We chose this hotel because we had a dawn reservation for the Inside the Stones tour of Stonehenge. As we had to be there before dawn, we wanted to be very close. This hotel did not disappoint. It's also very convenient to Salisbury.

Tracey welcomed us and made us feel right at home. We were up and out very early and home in time for a delicious breakfast. The parking is very convenient too.

Our room was on the second floor and very clean and comfortable. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Our review is similar to the others as Fairlawn House is a really lovely place to stay. Staff very very friendly, breakfast amazing, great location and for anyone wishing to walk to Stonehenge from the Fairlawn instead of drive, it takes about 40-45 mins each way. We know this as our car broke down whilst visiting and so we had no choice but it was lovely and sunny so it was nice and Stonehenge is definitely worth the visit.
We felt that the breakfast finishes a bit early at 8.30am on weekdays as we like to sleep in but the breakfast is gorgeous so definitely worth getting up for.
We stayed in room 1 which was a very good size and had everything we could want. Lovely bed and very clean. Similar to other reviews, our shower went a bit hot and cold so I didn't get to grips with it. We also felt that even though you're on the main road in room 1, we didn't have any problems with the road noise. We did feel though that there was a lot of noise outside our room (in the corridor) from 6.30am including a radio or TV playing and doors shutting loudly so not sure if that is just our room with that problem.

We were staying here whilst visiting relatives. This is a beautiful Georgian house and is more akin to a luxury B&B than an hotel. They don't serve evening meals. We had a lovely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. It was very quite despite being on the 'High Street' (not the main road through the town). The breakfast (both continental and freshly cooked full English Breakfast - you can have both!) is servied in a delightful cellar room. The staff were always friendly and never rushed us. The bedroom (Room 8) is elegantly furnished in oriental tones with a beautiful 'sleigh' bed. The ensuite was rather shabby for a 'superior room' but hopefully it will be upgraded as part of the 3 year referbishment programme the current owners are implementing (they have been there 2 years). The hotel was fully booked when we stayed - that is an indication of its popularity. My husband and I would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: From what I saw, all the rooms are nice but if you book directly with the owners you can ask about t...

Stayed 1 night in order to visit Stonehenge. We had room 11 which was on the front but there was little traffic. TV signal was not brilliant but okay for the little that we watched. Free Wifi which worked okay. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty and plentiful. There was a good selection of cereals etc on the cold table. The owners are extremely nice people with a delightful son and nothing is too much trouble. Excellent value at £60.

Fairlawn House is a friendly family run guest house. Situated near the centre of the small Wiltshire town of Amesbury, within easy walking distance of a number of restaurants. The location is ideal for those wishing to explore Stonehenge, Avebury or Salisbury by car.

My wife and I occupied room 5 on a Sunday night in March 2012, at a cost of £60 per room including breakfast. This room is a good size and well appointed with ample storage and a flat screen television mounted on the wall. Tea and coffee facilities are provided. The bathroom is of acceptable size containing a sink, toilet basin and electric shower. All in good condition, however the hot water from the tap was reluctant. Cleanliness throughout is exceptional.

The full english breakfast was freshly cooked and well presented. I can honestly say that it was the best I have enjoyed in many years. The Fairlawn House has a Food Standards Agency top rating of 5, the certificate is proudly displayed on the entrance door.

Whilst car parking on site is not included, free parking overnight between Monday to Thursday and at weekends (Friday evening to Monday morning), is available at the Barcroft Medical centre car park, about 100 meters from the properties main entrance, try and unload the car before parking.

I recommend the Fairlawn House to those who require reasonably priced clean accommodation in a good location and enjoy a great breakfast.

Like: It's more like a big bed and breakfast than a hotel. We were met with a warm welcoming smile, which continued throughout our stay. Our room (12) was warm and faced the high street, which wasn't too loud for us. They offer any combination of the full English breakfast, plus croissants. The owner made recommendations of places to eat, drink and points of interest, which we followed and all were great! The location is very central and they offer free parking and free WiFi!

Did Not Like: The water in our shower switches between hot and cold which wasn't very enjoyable. For those who love to sleep late, breakfast ends at 0930 at weekends and an hour earlier during the week.

Room Tip: Room 12 faces the high street

Our first B&B experience as a family and what a treat.
This B&B is more than a B&B, the customer service provided from the minute we got there to the minute we left was touching.
Our room, room 12, was perfectly suited to the three of us, a large corner room on the upper floor.
Breakfast was cooked to order and very lovely indeed, the cellar in which it was served is a charming room.
A well-priced, family friendly B&B that we would choose time and time again.

Room Tip: Free evening and weekend parking, free WIFI. Quieter rooms would be those away from the road.
