What a lovely place for afternoon tea. My wife and I are retierd and do enjoy our afternoon teas, this is one of the best lovely staff and top class tea. It was a delight to be able to choose which tea we would like I had jasmine, and my wife earl grey.
We will definitely be going again, so relaxing.

Lovely to read your kind comments re our afternoon teas. We use silver tea stands, fine bone china and a wonderful selection of 14 loose leaf teas - something for everyone! Thank you.

My wife and I have been here for one night stop-overs after trans-Atlantic flights into Heathrow. It is a special treat to be pampered with amenities after twelve hours in transit. Room service full English breakfast there is a must. We also like the full selection of daily newspapers so we can catch up on news of the world. And it costs less than you'd think.

Room Tip: The room above the main entrance is our "regular". Wait until you see the pastoral scenes...

Thank you for your kind comments. Your room is the Cedar room and has the loveliest windows with painted scenes in the bathroom. We look forward to your next visit.

On the road between Lacock and Melksham we spotted a board advertising a £15 two course lunch. We were midway through a long car journey and a tad weary - we'd never heard of Beechfield House Hotel. We had begun to relax by the time we had parked in the charming garden. We were shown to an elegant drawing room where we ordered and then shown to a pretty private dining room. There were Just four tables for two and no other customers until we were nearly finished. There was a conference enjoying a buffet lunch elsewhere. A chamber orchestra played Mozart in the background. Service was prompt and charming and the food was good and attractively presented. Perhaps we'd crashed and died and gone to heaven !

Room Tip: Lunch only.

I stayed here with my Mum and 18 month son before a work conference which was being held at the hotel the next day. The hotel staff were extremely attentive and kind and we were upgraded to a superb Family room in the Manor House. We had room service which was great and the breakfast was of a high standard the next morning. The conference was extremely well run and the food at lunchtime was lovely, homemade triple fish pie, plenty of salads followed by rhubarb crumble and cream. I will be returning and hope to plan my husbands birthday celebration here for 2016.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Manor House Arcacia room and it was huge.

We stayed with two kids for 3 nights. The room was genuinely spacious even with the two extra beds. Lovely new stylish decor; there's something very nice about staying in a beautiful place built with care and attention. The unexpected Easter eggs were much appreciated!

All the staff were unfailingly polite and helpful. We had dinner 3 days - the restaurant only opens at 7pm but they let us start at 630pm as we were worried 7 would be too late for our kids. Again much appreciated.

Outdoor pool was surprisingly very warm and swimmable even for fussy kids who're used to Centerparcs tropical indoor pools and even when air temp was only 10 deg C; usually I find outdoor pools in the UK to be torture. Croquet on the front lawn was great for kids too.

Free wifi was easy to sign in and use (thank goodness I didn't have to give emails, phone numbers etc unlike other hotels) although quite slow.

Last but not least, it wasn't as expensive as I thought! We'd love to come back. It's such an accessible, interesting area.

Stayed: April 2014

What a lovely review - covering most points of your stay - thank you.
The pool is heated to 85F from March to November so always perfect for a swim whatever the weather! Fibre broadband is being installed next month so the wifi speed will very dramatically improve.

We took three rooms this last week to celebrate an 80th birthday in the family. This hotel is way up there with the numerous quality country hotels in Wiltshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire, at slightly more reasonable prices. The staff are wonderful, our only criticisms are as follows:
Speed bumps on entrance drive need painting white, they are almost impossible to see and are especially fierce.
Refrigerator in the main bar is simply not up to the task meaning white wines (by the glass) were served practically warm.
No full length mirror in our room (Hazel) and sash windows would not stay open in one of our rooms, it was very warm in April, July could be difficult!

Thank you for choosing us for the special family celebration and for the great feedback which we will act upon. You'll be pleased to hear that full length mirrors were ordered last month for delivery next. We will repaint the speed bumps as soon as we have a quiet day and address the sash window asap. Hope we'll see you back again before too long.

I married my wife at Beechfield on the 5th April this year. The venue was just perfect for us as it was exactly the right size and we were able to have exclusive use on the day.

The best thing about this hotel is the overall appearance. The rooms are beautifully decorated and really smart but also extremely classy and elegant. I am always impressed by any venue of this size that is smart and well maintained as well-used hotels can quickly look tired and tatty with constant use.

On the day, the fires were lit as it was a little cold outside and the whole place was cosy and cheerful. Another great feature of this venue is that if you have a disco/band in the evening, it is contained in the main room. This means that any older guests that don't want to listen to the loud music, can escape into the lovely front rooms that remain peaceful and quiet.

All the guests at our wedding that were staying the night commented on how lovely their rooms were and the grounds and gardens were absolutely spot on. The grass had been cut the day before and the place just looked so well cared for. The gardeners and grounds staff are clearly very hard-working and very good at what they do.

All of the staff were very helpful, attentive and appeared extremely well trained. Even the waiters and waitresses who were mainly young adults were very impressive and really seemed to be striving to deliver an excellent service.

I have to put a special mention on here for the events coordinator, a man called Jean-Luc. This man is a consummate professional. His organisation skills and attention to detail are deeply impressive. His manner, his understanding and his coordination of the staff on the day were second to none and I think he was probably the main reason our day ran so smoothly.

The wedding breakfast was excellent considering their were 67 mouths to feed. I would like to add that I thought the canapes could have been better but that didn't spoil our day or detract from the overall impression of excellence.

We will be returning to Beechfield again soon and I would recommend this venue to anyone.
