“Fantastic meal”
Reviewed 31 May 2012 via mobile

We visited the Ivy Inn on our trip south from Scotland. The pub atmosphere was really welcoming. We loved the cozy nature of the bar area and the warm welcome from the barmaid. The meal we had was absolutely amazing. We both cleared every morsel off our plates and even managed to squeeze in a pudding!! It was the best meal of the holiday. The chef / owner came out and chatted with us. I would recommend this secret, out of the way pub/ restaurant to everyone.Well worth a visit and a meal! Famous for it's cask ales, it should be famous for it's meals and warm, friendly welcome from the chef/ owner and his wife.

“Excellent food, good beer and proper welcome”
Reviewed 29 April 2012 via mobile

We've tried a few places lately and to be honest have even very disappointed. So we went to the Ivy hoping to find that old fashioned English pub ... Good beer and a decent meal. We were more than happy on all counts. The beer was good, the wine reasonably priced and the food excellent and also resonantly priced the chef, who I assume is also the landlord, was attentive and interested enough to explain his menu which was varied and well priced.

We'll go again. We wish t was our village pub instead of the dump we have.

“Nice sunday lunch”
Reviewed 6 February 2012

they do a carver style sunday lunch which is very home style. Food is good value for money and they serve good quality wines and beers as well. All in a pleasant country setting.
