We live locally and tried the Dumb Post a few years back when we first moved to the area. It was OK but was tired and lacking in atmosphere. We just didn't bother to go back.

Having read in our local village newsletter that the Dumb Post had been taken over by new owners in the last month or so, we thought we'd pop in for a bite to eat. We were so glad we did. The food was just delicious, well presented and served by lovely staff who are warm, welcoming and know what they're doing.

We can't believe we have this pub on our doorstep now and although the previous owners did an OK job, we are now proud of our local and will definitely come back regularly ourselves and also bring our friends and visitors.

Well done Jo, Matt and Sarah. You have done a great job with the place and the most important thing is that you have a created a place where people will want to come back safe in the knowledge that the food will be great and the atmosphere will be inviting.

We'll be back and we're so glad you've taken on the place! Thanks for a great evening :-)

Visited with friends for Sunday Lunch today and we were not disappointed. The new owners have done a great job smartening up what was a very tired and dismal pub. It has a nice comfortable feel about it now and has a nice atmosphere for dining with friends.
The staff are friendly and attentive and looked after us very well. The food is superb, and I think you would be hard pushed to find a better Sunday roast than here.
It is well worth a visit and I can't wait for next summer to try that fabulous terrace with great views over the beautiful Wiltshire countryside.

This was our first visit under the new regime, we were very impressed with all the changes, particularly with the quality of the food we were served and the new ambience achieved by clever removal of some old walls and redecoration.
Can't say that we missed the old wallpaper but very pleased that the parrot is still there and looking in great condition!
I hope that Matt & Jo maintain the bar area for drinkers and we will certainly be back regularly.

Just visited the Dumb Post which is under new management for the new twice a month Thursday curry night. The bar was very welcoming the staff really friendly and helpful and the curries were good value and really good quality - had Korma, Madras , Balti and Thai Curries to choose from and vegetarian versions. Good choice of wines lagers and plenty of real ales. The place is clearly going through a bit of a make over under new hands but it they are keeping the warm & cosy old world charm of the place. Really enjoyable night I will be back.

This was our first visit to the Dumb Post and what a pleasing Sunday lunch we enjoyed. One of the members of staff explained that the pub was in the process of being refurbished and was not yet finished,a beautiful beer garden which appeared to be popular with families on this sunny October day,it has a great view across the valley. The menu was quite short being mainly traditional roast dishes which were superbly produced, well cooked and presented, excellent value for money. There is a wide range of beers and wines this being a freehouse. It is plain to see that someone is seriously investing in this establishment and that includes the staff, who were first class, friendly and polite and creating the right sort atmosphere for a busy pub.We wish you every success with this venture.
