I used to love this little village pub, it used to be quirky and had something warming about it. I'm highly disappointed by this pub now, its dull and boring inside. It was a lovely place to have a few drinks and a catch up with friends but now i dont feel welcome if i go in and have a few drinks. If your not eating your not welcome. This is such a shame.

Dropped in on a Thursday night for a quick bite to eat. Themed burger night - good value high quality burgers at a very reasonable price. Very welcoming and dog friendly. Recommended.

Very pleasant helpful staff, quick to take our orders. The venue is nice, not too many tables squashed in. Lovely views from all windows. Two lamb roasts, one chicken and one salmon. All were very generous and two large bowls of mixed veg. Only comment, it would have been nice have been asked if we needed any sauces or more drinks when the meals were delivered. The food was excellent, very good roasties and yorkshire puds. Very nice outside area for the summer, funny parrot on the way outside.

I chanced upon the Dumb Post by accident when I was checking on access to a field-archery event and decided to pull into their car-park for an evening meal.

The outside was swathed in scaffolding and all the other signs of building work.

The inside was a very different story: a welcoming log-fire, complete with the publicans' delightful yellow-labrador stretched out in the warmth, a staff of young people eager to tell me about the menu and ensure that I find the ideal table.

That menu was far more impressive than I was expecting; and the food was even more or a surprise. I chose poached mushrooms in a creamy sauce as a starter and calve's liver with mash and vegetables as my main course. The meal was superb - and excellent value for money.

I watched the dishes being served to other diners: everything looked excellent.

I was also able to eavesdrop on the manageress talking to some friends about her aims for the Dumb Post. She clearly has her finger on the potential for this lovely location: it's a tad out of the way, so needs something special to attract custom - and she's found exactly what that special something should be!

Nice pub with plenty to offer staff were friendly and helpful, the food took half an hour to appear after ordering the order arrives wrong once the correct meals arrived we were given 1 bowl of veg with 1 piece of broccoli which we were told was for 2. The meal it's self was small and expensive, which is a real shame as it's sister pub the Langley tap was amazing.
