The whole Devizes experience is well worth it. It doesn't matter whether you go in the winter or summer it is still worth a visit

“Very Interesting!”
Reviewed 28 May 2011

This is a small, friendly museum, well worth a visit, while in the lovely town of Devizes.
I visited the museum after I had been to Stonehenge & Avebury. The Neolithic & Bronze Age exhibits really added to my understanding of those sites.
I was very taken by the Saxon exhibits. I knew nothing about the Saxons! I learned that they had lovely jewelry and metalwork, fine clothing. And they seemed open-minded about religion - some became Christian, some did not.

“Something for everyone, interesting displays & fascinating exhibitions - not to mention the lectures and special events.”
Reviewed 4 June 2010

Highly recommended to all visitors to Wiltshire, as well as to locals, the museum covers 6000 years of life in this ancient and fascinating county. There are regular exhibitions, lectures and special events, which complement the regular displays. Currently there's a fascinating exhibition about white horses and hill figures, prior to that it was Wiltshire at War.
