“Highly recommended, great staff, great collection!”

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit at the Wiltshire Museum. The revamped Bronze Age gallery was amazing, loaded with fun activities for kids, and full of beautiful objects.

“Even something for a one year old!”
Reviewed 27 November 2013

A recent visit with the family and even one year old Toby was happily taking part - rearranging Stonehenge, grinding grain and digging for treasures. The museum staff were friendly and helpful, many are volunteers I believe. The shop full of interesting things for all ages and the museum itself was easy to negotiate, even with a buggy! Something for all ages, very educational, with very interesting displays. Aerial shots of the Wiltshire landscape were especially interesting to me showing the barrows etc in detail never seen from a drive by, it certainly helped my understanding of my county.

“TIME WELL SPENT”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

This small (on the outside) museum has some important bronze age colllections and features recently extended redesigned and refurbished galleries. It mounts special history days aimed at children so worth calling ahead. Devizes itself is a lovely market town wiith a medieval street plan, a history plan, plenty of old houses, churches and pubs, a canal, a brewery with tours and a museum so it is possible to make a day of it.
