We went up Caen Hill locks and back two days later,it was hard work with all the locks but the voluntary lock keepers on the locks where very help full and we did the fight both times in about two and half hours.

Not quite such a step walk back up the locks as one might think. Nice walk down the locks and enjoyable to watch people working them. Nice to be able to walk back up on the other side of the canal locks on the "pond/nature reserve" side with plenty of benches to have a break and watch the swans and ducks.

Exciting place to watch canal boats negotiate the 16 locks. There is also a café at the top of the locks where there are some very delicious refreshments to be had. Lovely views of surrounding countryside too to enjoy and nature at its very best. Nesting Swans there at the moment at Lock 41, so best to keep well away from them.

A lovely walk in beautiful English countryside on the outskirts of a historical town. There is everything here to help one unwind and relax. The pace of life seems to slow down to the speed of the canal and there is plenty of opportunity to replenish resources at the halfway cafe, the garden centre or the pub at the top of the hill. Enjoy Wiltshire!
