“Cheyne Cottage was Absolutely Perfect for our stay”
Reviewed 6 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We traveled from Ireland to do the Devizes to Westminister Canoe race.
The "Cottage" was actually a very spacious house with lots of room for 8 adults. It had every facility, from free wifi to BBQ, board games large TV etc etc. Nice big back garden. House was spotless. Great welcome pack, with instruction on use of heating etc.
Great Communication with Bruce, via phone, text and email.
The village Potterne was lovely and quiet, people very friendly. Nice pub only short walk away.
I would highly recommend anyone to stay at Cheyne Cottage

“Beautiful cottage, lovely throughout.”
Reviewed 5 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Stayed in Bruce's gorgeous cottage for four nights at the beginning of January, with 6 adults it was nice to have plenty of space, in all the rooms and in the dining room and living room as well. The cottage is really well equipped, didn't come across the usual annoyance of a lack of cooking equipment and or cutlery and glasses etc. Plenty to go around.
The added bonus of 2 bathrooms also meant that 6 girls getting ready in the morning was a breeze.
The cottage is easy to find being 2 minutes from nearby Devizes which has a bevvy of restaurants and pubs, we especially recommend Franco's where we had amazing italian food. It is also near to Bath (about 30 mins no traffic)
I would have absolutely no hesitation in coming back to Cheyne cottage, Bruce was an extremely pleasant host (he even came to wave us off in the morning) and as I said the cottage is lovely.
Hopefully next time it will be in the summer so we can enjoy the garden and the bbq!

“Super break - very comfortable”
Reviewed 11 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

With 4 adults and 3 kids, the cottage was a perfect size, enough rooms and space to spread out! Everything was clean, tidy and thoughtful little details and touches made it a happy stay for all of us. Very child friendly too with toys and dvd's for the kids. They loved their "holiday home"! Nothing to fault!

“Great place for families”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cheyne Cottage and were especially impressed that it had everything we needed and more. We were travelling as a large group ranging from a baby up to oldies and really appreciated that the house was perfect for little ones. Bruce provided a cot, high chair, stair gates, loads of books, kids' DVDs, toys - for both young kids and babies - and loads of balls and rackets to play with outside. To have our little ones entertained whilst we could relax was invaluable.
We all fit in nicely, although I would say we're used to Queen sized beds so weren't the biggest fans of the double beds that sunk in the middle! The place did need a little bit more of a dusting too!
It really was a perfect place for us, set in a lovely little village very close to all we needed to see in lovely Wiltshire.

Thank you for your review and I am delighted that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay. Certainly all the equipment and toys/games for children, along with all the space, have proved very popular with families before. Both double beds are now the type with a longitudinal central steel support under-beams - meaning middle sagging is impossible. I was disappointed by your dust comment and have therefore introduced a dusting "triple check" at each changeover.
Thank you for being great guests, Bruce

“Wonderful place - ticks all the boxes”
Reviewed 14 June 2013 for a stay in January 2013

Cheyene Cottage gives you options and when we needed more sleep room to celebrate the New Year (11 in total), the lounge with its unfolding beds and added nooks and crannies gave us just that - just make sure the lounge lot go to bed last ! Perfectly well-equipped and reasonably-maintained (we hope the wobbly loo seat has been fixed) we had a great time here. Short walk to the local pub and a small shop, its a good location - far enough off the road so you don't hear it. Bruce the landlord is about as friendly and helpful as you might expect. Because of its location, I think it gets overlooked - we stayed over New Year, and he still has availability still in August 2013 when I looked last. Its a great place to explore Wiltshire from. The parking is easy for one car, and at the time we stayed the church hall offered (risky) short-term spaces for guests. Two cars can be parked but its not easy if they are larger models.

Thank you Martin for your complimentary review. You and your family were excellent guests and it was a pleasure having you in Cheyne Cottage. Thank you too for your constructive comments and I'm now delighted that you've just booked to come again next month: I'm sure you'll like the new fridge, creamic hob and dining room cutlery which have all been upgraded with quality brand new replacements since your January stay. The loo seat wobble was, of course, fixed within an hour of your departure last time! See you soon and best wishes, Bruce

“Fantastic weekend away”
Reviewed 9 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We booked a weekend in between two other bookings. Bruce Jones was really helpful right from the very first enquiry. We were kept informed from the time we booked including confirmation of payments and instructions and a map on how to find the cottage. The cottage was quite big and was fully equiped with everything that we needed and more. The garden was lovely with a large patio area. This cottage was perfect for 6 but could easily accommodate 8. Lovely village and a good base for a holiday.

Our group was four adults and two young children, plenty of room, very clean cottage, had everything that you could want. The owner kept in touch and nothing was too much trouble.Would not hesitate to stay again. We arrived late at night and it took a bit to find but with the help of the local people we were pointed in the right direction. This is a cottage that has to be considered.
