Having recently moved to the area, we are searching for some good places to eat. We were delighted to find Emily's tea rooms in Devizes. The staff are the best we've experienced for some considerable time, they welcome every customer as a friend, making everyone feel special. The choice of menu was extensive, and everything sounded wonderful making it difficult to choose. However, we were delighted with our choices and the food was delicious. All food appeared to be locally sources and reasonably priced. In fact we couldn't fault it, we will most definitely be back. Kay and Paul

Although my girlfriend's is and she's an avid tea lover, so she got more than a little excited about this place. Lovely service, good range of high quality teas (they specifically have a 'generous tea pot' option), and delicious scones. Highly recommended!

While the building is certainly charming i would not agree with some other reviews, the service is polite but the food was not to the same standard, there are better places to enjoy a good lunch in devizes

Dear trip advisor,

Firstly please allow me to thank you for your time and giving a local small business an opportunity to prove itself worthwhile of your custom.
We are always delighted at comments praising our establishment including yours on the friendly service but we have to take the rough with the smooth. Sadly obviously we did not live up to your expectations and we are very sorry about this and it is unfortunate for us that you have judged us on this visit.
We would of hoped that in your review you could of been a little more elaborate and informative but it is what it is.
Sadly madam, no establishment is perfect, whether it be a toastie or 3 course meal being prepared, some times and I stress only sometimes, things go wrong. We are no exception, it's human nature and mistakes can be and in your case have been made. When justifiable dissatisfaction is put to us, we always refund in a bid to show professionalism and to temp you into trying us again but I understand money is not always the point as is not ours. We are family run and so it's a very proud personal service and so we naturally take it to heart when this happens. In the past, we've look at complaints, learnt from them and do our best to do it better. The public shape us and we adapt and change where appropriate. Complaints can be spun to a positive when dealt with correctly. Trip advisor works in both ways, it lets us know when we are getting it right or wrong and allows you the customer to express your opinion. On a positive note we are glad you liked the building, we work hard to keep it this way. Devizes is lucky to have many fine building and architecture and hopefully your exspirience will continue to be in the minority to assure Emily's and other independents prosper.
It just leaves us now to apologize for any inconvenience caused on the day of your lunch.

Our regards to you

This is a gem of a place, friendly efficient service as soon as you walk through the door and delicious food whether it's breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. It seems that all the produce is sourced locally where possible and of top quality, it's prepared and served with great care and everything we had tasted delicious! We loved this traditional parlour style tearoom and will definitely return on our next visit to Devizes. The prices are fair and very good value and even the Latte was on of the best I've had, far better than many high street coffee shops.

Have been to Emilys on a number of occasions.
Owners Rob and Steve, as well as all of their staff, make you smile as soon as you open the lovely old door! They have a genuine desire to make you feel at home and welcome. There is never the feeling you're being rushed or not important.
The food is utterly devine, whether it's breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea and it's served in the most gorgeous of settings.
I highly recommend this restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

We try to always offer a warm welcome to everyone so that they all feel part of the exspirience/atmosphere and amongst the locals and owners banter not alongside it.
