“Just what the doctor ordered!!”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

My boyfriend and I were in need of a last minute mid-week break and decided on Cleeves Wood B&B in the Box Valley, just outside Bath. We were thrilled when we arrived to the beautiful rural setting down a picturesque, country lane. The hosts could not have been more welcoming on arrival with coffees/teas at the ready to be enjoyed in the fab gardens overlooking the completely unspoilt Box Valley. The room was very clean and tidy, we were given the 'cream room' which had a modern en-suite shower room and is a good sized double room (the bed is so comfy that we found it difficult getting up in the morning!) with all the usual requirements (hair dryer/kettle/storage etc.). The breakfast is served in dining room with an excellent fried breakfast, cereals, fruit and yoghurts, or smoked salmon etched if preferred. We stayed for just 2 nights, but it was such a relaxing break that we really could have done with an extra couple of nights!! As you may have guessed, we recommend this B&B very highly if you are looking for a relaxing break, great walks, even better pubs and only 5 mins drive to Bath centre, with an added bonus of a great nights sleep and friendly faces offering extensive local knowledge. We will be staying again if visiting Bath again soon!

We booked based on excellent reviews and were not disappointed Very friendly hosts as were the cats !! Excellent room even If not en suite - Lovely comfortable lounge Only one small point - would have preferred separate table for breakfast - not everyone want non stop conversation from other guests - Would thoroughly recommend a stay at Cleeves Wood
Joan and David.

Room Tip: Would choose an ensuite

Beautiful location with stunning views of the valley only a few miles from bath, the bus can be caught from just up the road into bath. Stephanie and paul are superb hosts who like the other reviews comment on make you feel part of the family. The rooms are superb with excellent on suite bathrooms. There is wifi and lovely garden to enjoy the views from. The accommodation is spotlessly clean with a superb choice of breakfast including full cooked which is beautifully prepared and high quality produce. Quite simply this is the best B and B I have stopped at can't recommend it enough.

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from a 2 night stay in our first B&B together. And we weren't disappointed!!

The location is beautiful - feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. But it is only a 10 minute drive from Bath and half an hour from Bristol.

We stayed in the room with the separate bathroom. Was very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable.

Breakfast was delicious and there is no shortage of tea or coffee!

We would definitely return as Stephanie and Paul are so welcoming - they treat you like family staying with them.

The location of this B&B is fantastic with amazing views looking down the valley. You could even see Bath at a distance. The room was clean and we got to use their luxurious bath and shower :) Good choice of fresh/hot breakfast. Paul and Stephanie are really nice and they made us feel at home. We will be back and will definitely recommend a stay to our family and friends.

We had the pleasure of staying here 19 October for 2 nights. We have very busy lives at home and wanted a peaceful retreat and this is exactly what it was. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable, the view from the bedroom window was breathtaking. Stephanie is a really lovely lady that gave us a really warm welcome she cooks and amazing breakfast with the help of her husband Paul. Would definate recommend.

There isn't a better b&b to be found. It's in an absolutely beautiful setting, the hosts are warm and welcoming and our room was fabulous (we took the room without the ensuite and the huge private bathroom was just outside the door). Breakfast was excellent and the bed was so comfortable we slept like babes. It's convenient - only a short bus ride to Bath (€4.20 return) - and the pub up the street has great food. Absolutely the best stay of our trip.
