“Excellent family rendezvous venue”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

We spent a great weekend (apart from the weather!) imposing 29 adults and children on Whychurch's camping and self catering facilities. The cottages are really cosy, comfortable and well equipped, whilst the camping field is a lovely flat, well-grassed area offering peaceful nights and active days. A short walk across the field to Malmesbury completed the picture. Great!

FIVE STAR ACCOMODATION - This was our first stay in Malmesbury. The campsite is situated on a working farm with beautiful views across to the abbey. The most perfect night was had, we stayed in the bell tent, all the fun of camping without any of the work. We arrived, the tent was already set up with a table set for supper and a double bed with side table, tea and coffee facilities inc a fridge, microwave and gas cooker, there's even carpet and rugs! Everything has been so well thought out. The hosts Ian and Caroline are very on the ball, nothing is too much trouble. So in short, fabulous hosts, super duper facilities - you'd be unable to beat a stay in Whychurch Farm's Bell Tent.

Room Tip: Bell tent or a shepherd's hut to choose from, we looked at both and would choose either.

Great little spot in walking distance from Malmesbury, and good location for Westonbirt Arboretum. We opted for the Shepherd's Hut which was beautifully presented, very cosy and with an extraordinarily comfy bed. The attention to detail was stunning and there wasn't anything they hadn't thought of. A great blend of practical equipment and traditional decor, all packed into a deceptively large, small space! Lovely warm welcome when we arrived, with a tea tray and homemade shortbread. Two toilets and a shower a stone's throw away, which could perhaps get overworked if the camping field is very busy, but coped well enough with the dozen-or-so people who were there with us. £1 honesty box for the shower. Indoor wash-up including full size fridge, microwave, toaster and burner for Shepherds Hut guests. A little noise from the cattle at times, we had an unexpected early morning alarm on the first day, but that's the attraction of a working farm. Can't comment on the B&B facilities but the camping field looked flat and level, small enough to be accommodating but not overbearing, and had hook-ups. We would certainly camp here if we came to the area again but the attraction of the Shepherds Hut might mean the tent stays at home...

Thanks for a lovely stay. :)

Thank you so much to Christine and family for being so helpful, kind and accommodating.

We got married close by. My wife and I had the Orchard cottage, our Best Man, Bridesmaid, Usher took up various other rooms. Everyone was made to feel welcome. All rooms were clean and comfortable. Bob the dog is adorable!

A warm welcome, a charming room and a good breakfast. Top marks ! Only there for one night to see show in Malmesbury but would have loved to stay longer. Would be ideal base for visiting the area. Such a delightful setting.

We loved our stay at Whychurch Farm the first two nights we stayed in the little house on the side. It was very cosy with a nice bathroom. Our last night we stayed in the house and it was very comfortable with a great tea making tray. Our first two mornings we sat in the window and looked at the view and the birds, while we ate our lovely breakfast. The girls really looked after us and we enjoyed talking to them. Our last day we shared with other guests the big table. Beautiful set with lovely china and special touches. The gardens are very relaxing to walk in and I loved the rabbit. A great 3 day stay.

Room Tip: Stay in the old Dairy

Only stayed for one night, in the cottage, but a lovely place and very friendly. Some nice touches - homemade shortbread and marmalade - in the kitchen. Also a wonderful recommendation of the Radnor Arms down the road in Corston as a place for dinner. One of the best pub meals (and great value) I have had in a long time.
