A classic Cotswolds manor house, superbly renovated and re- furbished, into a first class hotel and spa.
Upon arrival we were delighted to be advised that our room had been upgraded and whilst booking in, our luggage was taken from the car to our room and then staff parked our car in the area reserved for guests.
Throughout our stay, all staff were un-failingly attentive, cheerful and courteous and always willing to help.
The spa and hydrotherapy pool are fab.Beautiful treatment rooms, highly trained staff, then relax on huge heated stone recliners. Bliss! Without doubt our best hotel experience to date.

This hotel was everything you might expect and more. The gardens are stunning and the house is an arts and crafts gem.

We had booked as a special treat for a significant birthday. As the automatic gates opened upon arrival, staff seemed to appear from nowhere. We had arrived early, but that was no problem. We were led into reception as our luggage was collected and the car taken and parked for us. We were given a guided tour of the hotel and as we were still a little early for our room, we decided to make use of the spa, which is stunning.

We had a superior room, which was spacious and beautifully furnished.

For dinner, we opted for the tasting menu with matching wines. Between each course, the Sommelier took a few moments to discuss his choice of wine for that course. This was informative and he seemed genuinely interested in our feedback. The food was heavenly, although given the generous glass of wine with each course compared to the size of the food portion, the basket of homemade breads on the table was welcome!

Whatley Manor is highly recommended for a special occasion.

I was recommended to try Whatley Manor and found that it was everything I thought it would be and more!!. I booked a table a couple of months ago for my husband's birthday treat. Although it was a little hard to find, we finally arrived at the entrance of the Manor. It was most impressive and I couldn't wait to go in to the restaurant. I had booked a table in the Dining room restaurant. We parked our car in the car park which had plenty of spaces and arrived into the reception where we were escorted to the drawing room, such a beautiful room where we ordered drinks. Whilst waiting we were served canapes which were very delicious. Then at about half an hour later we were escorted into the Dining Room restaurant. It was very impressive. There was plenty of choice on the menu and we sat back and enjoyed every moment. The food was fabulous along with the service. Just when you think you have ordered a dessert, two pre-desserts were served. So delicious and we even had room for the Chocolate Fondants and coffee. Also the waiter brought along a box of chocolates for us to try, more chocolate, how could we resist?. The hotel also served a small birthday cake for my husband which was a lovely surprise. All in all a wonderful experience and we would definately return in the future.

Room Tip: We went for dinner only.

And it was worth it. I'm not sure whether to be alarmed or impressed that members of staff recognised us from last time but several times we were asked if we'd been here before, just over a year ago.

It was storming wildly as we arrived, they met us with an umbrella as we went from the car to reception. It was their valentine's package, and the lovely receptionist mentioned casually that they had upgraded us. They certainly had. We'd booked a nice room - what we got felt like our own castle, complete with lobby area! After that it would have been rude not to take breakfast in the room - so we did. Both mornings.

We had the valentine's meal at the bistro for the Friday night - very tasty. We booked the private cinema to catch up on Breaking Bad - that was incredible - I would definitely do that again!

Saturday we had a couples treatment in the spa - thanks to Sarah and Shelpi (hope I got your names right!) and wallowed in the warm water watching the rain and the wind around us.

Saturday night we were determined not to do the tasting menu this time - for a change. Only then we saw it and succumbed. Very glad we did too as it was delicious - with not a single note out of place. We had drinks in the bar first - the Hungarian barman made incredible cocktails and was friendly and engaging - like all the staff in fact.

By the time the petit fours came out - we were just too full - but they boxed them up for us without any problem.

The only trouble with Whatley Manor is that it's very hard to readjust to doing things for yourself again. *glares at washing pile back home*

A Christmas present from our boss, a spa day at whatley manor. I have been to quite a few spas and this us by far the best. Because they do not over book you have the feeling you have the spa to yourself. The service was fantastic, the treatments were amazing. I hope we are lucky enough to return again next year.

I think we chose the stormiest night to drive to Whatley. When we arrived up the long drive way and the gates opened for us both of our spines began to tingle and didnt stop until we left 2 days later. The General Manager welcomed us on our arrival even though it was after 7pm at night on a Sunday. Cant say that happens at every hotel we have stayed at!

The welcome was very nice and friendly and our bags were wisked out of the car and into the room before we got there. A short tour of the hotel made sure we knew where everything was before settling into our lovely room. We had plenty of space in room 9 with a small lounge area, large bedroom and well appointed bathroom. Everything was perfectly clean and working like you would expect. The bed was a very generous size and incredibly comfortable. With a tv in the bedroom and lounge we could both watch tv in bed while having breakfast and I could watch my programme in the evening while she watched hers.
The spa was a godsend during our stay. As this was a last minute get away we had not made any plans other than to relax. With this in mind we wondered down to the spa after a hearty room service breakfast and did not move until dinner time that evening! More steam rooms then I have seen in a spa before, salt scrub showers and a really nice little pool. We snoozed on the hot marble beds and read on the comfortable pool side loungers. Star gazing in the outdoor pool is a must.
On our final morning we had breakfast in the restaurant which again brought good friendly service. The cooked breakfast is of a very high standard and the continental breakfast included everything you would expect at a 5 star hotel. We relaxed in the spa for one last time and then made our way back home. As the gates opened to let up out we both agreed that Whatley may infact be our new favourite hotel here in the UK.
