Lovely experience. The staff go above and beyond and the food is brilliant. On a sunny afternoon you can sit out on the grass and let the children run around. Our if you fancy something quiet sit on the comfortable sofas inside and just look around you.

What can be said about a 1000+year old Abbey, its stunning in every way and the guides/stewards can bring the place to life if you talk to them.
We often pop in for the best decaf latte and cappuccino around and its so affordable at £1.50 each. The bacon rolls are superb with 3 slices of bacon in the day we had them. Then there are those cakes, wow wow wow. The inches pile on to the waist as you look and at £1.75 they are great value. The staff here are so friendly however you have to remember its a working church so they sometimes have to close for a wedding or other service.
Highly recommended in every way.

The Abbey is a stunning building and has an aura about it, it always feels good to call in. Now the cafe help to capture people with great value with high quality. The decafe coffees are tasty and the bacon rolls, well they are great and stuffed full. The homemade cakes are excellent and the whole lot won't break the bank. Well done.

After seeing the glowing reviews here we dropped in at 3pm on a Saturday for afternoon tea. We were turned away because they close at 3. Why would you close a tea room just as tea time starts?
However, the seating looked comfortable and the surroundings wonderful.

Thank you for your kind words about the atmosphere and setting. We're really sorry we had to turn you away. Malmesbury Abbey is a working church with the church itself and the café staffed by volunteers. The abbey itself closes at 4pm during the winter. This means the Abbey Café has to close at 3pm. We'd love you to come back and try again, perhaps a little bit earlier in the afternoon, and maybe do another review? We're open from 9am-3pm every day except Sundays and Wednesdays, and it would be lovely to see you!
