We stayed two nights and would definitely like to stay again. I was afraid it might be noisy but the two stable rooms we had were very comfortable and quiet. The showers were powerful and hot. The staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to provide what we wanted for breakfast - on the second morning they remembered that we liked Earl Grey tea. They had several cask ales available in the bar, which delighted my husband and son. The location was very handy for a stroll round the shops. The only downside was that we had no chance to sample the food there - perhaps next time!

Room Tip: Rooms Stable One and Stable Two are nice and quiet, as they are behind the inn. They are opposite o...

Booked into one of the stable rooms...very nice and clean, the only down side to our stay was that we had ordered breakfast but nobody told us where breakfast was served ( pub was very busy when we booked in so might be an oversight) as a result we had to leave without having it as our bus was due, someone could have knocked and told us, the other thing was the dog that kept leaving poo outside our 'front door' all night, i know this as i'm a smoker going outside for a smoke.

When checking in you would have been asked what you would like for breakfast and when you would like it as our breakfasts are cooked to order. If you'd have come into the main building you would have seen the tables laid up ready for breakfast and Catherine ready to serve you.
Regarding the dog poo. We do not have a dog living at the pub but we are dog friendly and there may have been another guest staying with a dog. Sorry but this would have been something we could not be held responsible for..
We are sorry that you weren't 100% happy with your stay but feel that the points mentioned were not our fault.

We stayed at the lamb as we were visiting friends and having a night out in Marlborough. We arrived at a busy time of the evening, but the staff still took the time to be friendly and helpful when checking us in. We stayed in the stable room which was really nice, clean with everything we needed and the bathroom was small, but perfectly formed. We were given a key so if we got back late we could still get in, we had a comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast in the morning was really nice and again staff were really friendly. It's not 5 star, but is a traditional characterful English pub with better than average rooms. I'd stay again.

Stayed at The Lamb Inn in October 2012 and returned again this year, October again. Nine like minded average male golfers requiring accommodation , food and good beer. Passed with flying colours on all three. Superb menu for a proper pub.Vyv, Jackie and staff very friendly and co operative on all counts. Well Done !!!!!

So it's not 5* luxury, but for 80 quid I cannot find fault!

Travel a lot for work and that is without doubt the most comfortable bed ever, literally slept like a corpse.

It's quaint and more than a little quirky but I loved that.

Breakfast was spot on, not many people get poached eggs THAT right. Cooked to order at a time of your choosing!

I've eaten lunch on a couple of occasions and the poachers roll they used to do (like a slice of an enormous, perfectly seasoned sausage roll.... Sadly now missing from the menu!) is amazing.

Great jukebox and a proper rural pub buzz in the evenings, great blend of character and charactERS!!

Not unique, but as unique as an English pub gets in it's eccentricity and personality.

Experience it!!

My wife and I spent 3 days at the Lamb as we we visited the lovely town of Marlborough and its environs. Its a good old fashioned pub serving real ale straight from the barrel. The room we had was very good, plenty of room although the ensuite was a squeeze. Service and food both excellent, plenty to choose from on the main menu and a belly buster breakfast beautifully cooked to order. All the staff are friendly and helpful making any stay a relaxing experience.
There's no car park and parking is a bit of a problem. There's street spaces outside and nearby so with a bit of organisation using free parking for 2 hours and free from 6pm to 10am its possible to get away without paying. Otherwise a local Waitrose provides short term parking at a reasonable cost. The Lamb is ideally placed for exploring the town and its high street (the second widest in the UK apparantly) which houses pubs restaurants and shops of all descriptions.

The staff are friendly, the food divine and the beer is gorgeous. What a lovely place this is, especially taking lunch in the courtyard - you feel that you are in the Mediterranean sitting under the vine eating sumptuously prepared and inventive food. Exquisite.
