I have stayed here on a couple of occasions now, can't say a bad word about it!
The rooms are clean and well decorated. The beds are out of this world! Everybody we dealt with are very friendly, and couldn't do enough for you. I would say, avoid the chip shop a few doors down though, it's not very nice!

Gorgeous old coaching inn on a quiet side seat just off Marlborough High Street. Room was in the converted stables across a courtyard so little or no noise from the bar. Reasonable size, very clean and comfortable. If you have mobility issues, the stair to our room was narrow and steep and might be an issue.
Highlight was the bar, range of real ales and malt whiskies, genial host, good food

A popular pub just off the High Street, although car parking is an issue in the town and you are not guaranteed a space anywhere near the Lamb.
The room was freshly decorated and clean and the staff were friendly. In warm weather the courtyard will be lively and the noise does travel and so you may need a few Waddingtons to help you sleep..
Fine for those with time on their side, but for the business visitor the 8.30 breakfast is a little late and I was disappointed that no alternative was offered, even when requested. My fault for not asking when reserving I suppose.

Really comfortable beds and quiet - not expected for a pub. We stayed above the stables at the back. The beds all have memory foam matresses we learnt later. Pub very welcoming. Marlborough is charming with a good range of restaurants. Would use again.

Room Tip: Ask for the Rooms above the old Stables

Nice room, the bed looked like it would be uncomfortable, but I was happily incorrect. The Steak & Kidney pie I had for dinner was absolutely wonderful with the buttery mashed potatoes and fresh veggies w/gravy. The young bartender, Tom? - was very nice to talk to and full of area information.
Breakfast was typical - not really perfect for an American - but tasty & filling.
Price was OK - maybe a bit on the high side, but all in all a very nice stay.

Room Tip: I stayed in the Stalls (#2) - stairway was extremely steep. View of small central courtyard / outside dining area. Quiet for sleeping.
