A wonderful location, with superbly kept Wadworths ale, and good food. Their sharing platters are very tasty. Plenty of room to sit in or outside - the summer months are fantastic watching the boats and ducks!

A pleasant place to refresh yourself. The food was fine but wooden serving dishes not hygienic in my opinion. Solid service.

We had a Saturday lunch here with three generations including a toddler and a baby. The staff were most attentive and the service was excellent. The menu both for the children and adults was quite limited and I felt needed another couple of choices so that there would be something to suit all. The food was quite OK but not exceptional. The canal view is very nice and it is pleasant to walk along the towpath before or after dining.

This canal-side restaurant is beautifully situated to enable diners (both inside and out) to watch the leisurely life of the narrowboats and passing ducks. The dining area is decorated with "barge" style items, eg. a small hip bath painted with traditional floral pattern held logs for the cosy wood fire. The menu is extensive, and caters for different size appetites. Two of us chose a salmon dish, one friend had caramelised onion and goats cheese tart, and another the honeyroast Wiltshire ham, with chips and a "brace of duck eggs". The food was tasty, and there was a good selection of desserts too, some featuring the local organic icecream. A very relaxing meal, in a pleasant setting. I can imagine it gets very busy in summer though!

Great setting on an active barge canal. Unique
atmosphere with interesting menu selections. I had Conger eel and the wife had venison. Truely enjoyed a pint of Wadworth 6X!
