“A unique experience”
Reviewed 16 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Our break at the Bluebell Yurt was a really unique experience. Jan and David were very welcoming hosts, and communication was great throughout. I am not a fan of camping as a rule, but as the kids like it I thought I would give 'glamping' a try and was glad I did! The yurt is located in a really picturesque area, peaceful and tranquil, with deer and lots of other wildlife on your doorstep. It was lovely and spacious inside, with nice decor and a comfy bed. There were chair beds there too for the children. It was quite cold at night, but the wood stove in the yurt kept it cosy until bedtime. The private flushing toilet was a nice facility! The children loved the freedom to roam, and had great fun exploring the woods nearby and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. Whilst we were there, we visited West Midlands safari Park and Go Ape, Wyre Forest, which are both a very short drive away. A great experience and the children are already asking when we will go back!!

“To sum up: Fantastic experience with outstanding hosts”
Reviewed 7 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We arrived to be greeted by the lovely David and Jan with a complimentary bottle of wine and cake ! Seriously what's not to love about that! A few fields away from the main house was our yurt, we took a ride down in a fun off-road vehicle with all our luggage and arrived at a huge but secluded location where we were met with a beautifully presented, fully furnished cottage style yurt.

No details had been left unthought about, we had tables, chairs, bean bags, draws, cupboards, sofa chairs, a wood burner, towels, candles, sola powered lights, big comfy bed with pillows, duvet with covers and blanket throws. There were all manner of tableware, glassware, stoneware, plasticware, jugs, cutlery, bottle openers etc the bookcase was full of books for young and old alike, there were playing cards and a jigsaw puzzle and to top it all off a "Brucey bonus" of a cuddly toy !

Outside the yurt was a large fire pit area with all logs needed to keep the fire going as well as a few big logs to sit up close around the fire with. There was also a lovely bench area and also some additional lazy chairs in the kitchen area if needed.

Separate from the yurt was a large hut unit containing a fully functional kitchen and toilet/ shower unit, the kitchen had a cool box, all the utensils and pots and pans needed. The cooker was large enough to cook a good meal on and the gas was provided. There was also a large BBQ with all the charcoal and fire lighters to get you started.

The next day we went up to the farm and hired some bikes, David kindly advised us which way to go with a couple of pub stops and even offered to pick us up if we weren't in a "fit state" to ride lol I had mentioned I wanted to stop off on route to get some scones on the way and Jan was kind enough to offer to arrange this for us upon our return to the farm.

There were tennis courts and horse riding available on the farm. Off site but close by was a fishing and shooting range which was also excellent.

This really was a truly relaxing and great experience, there is simply nothing I could imagine adding to make this trip any better, everything was catered for and David and Jan will go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you could possibly want. I will certainly be returning next year and am already looking forward to it!

Thank you David and Jan

“A perfect weekend, relaxing, in beautiful surroundings, unplugged!!!”
Reviewed 7 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

On our arrival, which took hours.. Thanks britains motorways. We were warmly welcomed by david and jan at the front door of their picturesque farm house set back and away from everything. We parked the car up by the stables and the adventure began. David chauffeured us and our luggage in the rolls royce of offroad pick up trucks. Down a sloping drive into a opening field, bouncing along through the next field. Down another track into an open meadow and we still aren't quite there yet.... We track down the edge of the final field over a small crest and there it is, our home for the weekend "bluebell" david parks up and shows us around our yurt. After unloading the roller and helping us start our fire pit camp fire he drives off and our first night begins. We start by tucking into our complementary bottle of red and a cake baked by jan (it was awesome) david pooped back a few hours later to check we were ok and settled and i got a quick bumpy lift back to the car so i could get a few essential camping supplies from the local shop in a nearby village (mostly cider and bacon)
Behind the yurt was a beautiful woodland, our closest neighbours in the adjoining yurt "woodland" were about 200 yards away in the woods.
Our first night was perfect, the night sky was clear, we sat under a blanket of stars next to our roaring camp fire drinking wine., perfect
In the morning i was awoken by the morning rush hour commuters, a herd of deer that skipped meters from our front door and disappeared into the woodland.
We walked up to the farmhouse to be greeted by david, we hired some bikes and rode off for a couple of hours.
There is a fishery and air rifle shooting range about half a mile from the farm, so we spent a couple of hours there learning how to shoot metal rats at 55 yards.
Our second night we used the bbq which is included with the yurt and after popping back up to the farm for more firelighters from david we had a great evening.
We had such a great weekend, our hosts were wonderful. We would highly recommend this site to everyone and we will definitely be returning soon
Thank you again David and Jan

Spent a magical evening here with the wood burner going in the beautifully presented bluebell yurt. The location is absolutely stunning, very serene and peaceful. The beds are so comfortable! Lay in bed looking up at the stars and Woke up to dappled sunshine through the canvas.

“Wow! what a great place, a little hideaway in the woods”
Reviewed 28 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We had already booked West Midland Safari Park so we were looking for a base nearby, thankfully we found Silligrove Farm as the whole experience was amazing.

Arriving a little earlier than expected, we were met by the owners Jan & Dave who were very warm, friendly and welcoming. Once we had parked up, we transferred our luggage from our car into the Kubota 4x4 and Dave took us for a short ride down to the yurt (which the kids loved)

Luckily for us there was a choice of two yurts, either situated in the woods or in the meadow. The kids immediately chose the one in the woods which had everything we expected and in fact had everything we didn't expect as well. It was obvious to see that the owners had thought long and hard about their visitors needs.

The yurt was beautiful inside and out with plenty of room for us all to sleep. Beside the yurt was a covered kitchen & shower room built from the local surroundings. A big surprise was that they had mains running water. There was also a firepit which entertained the kids for hours, it was lovely to see them interacting with nature instead of glued to iPads.

The yurt was very secluded and we felt in the middle of nowhere, very peaceful and tranquil. Ideal place to relax and recharge. The kids would like to inform you that we even spotted deer!!!

Highly recommend to anyone, we may even return without the kids.

“Relaxing, stunning location. When can we go back?!”
Reviewed 16 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

What a fantastic weekend. We absolutely loved our stay in Woodland Yurt, we haven't felt so relaxed in a really long time. The tranquil setting and the comfort of the well equipped Yurt made for a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. The weather wasn't brilliant but that didn't dampen our spirits. Kitted out in wellies, we went for a walk around the beautiful surroundings (right on the doorstep) and the kids had a brilliant time exploring and splashing in the stream. No cbeebies, no clock watching and not a single complaint of being bored. We had tears from the kids when it was time to go home.....I can't say I blame them. We would definitely recommend this to someone that wants to try camping or wants somewhere to get away from it all. Just bring clothes and food! Loved it and we'll be going back again soon!

“Beautiful location and beautiful yurts ! ”
Reviewed 29 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

First experience of glamping and now no going back! Beautiful yurt situated on its own in woodland complete with ensuite shower and toilet! Complete privacy which is essential with my children!! My girls absolutely adored the freedom of the beautiful location, running in the woods and meadows and paddling in the stream and not forgetting toasting marshmallows over the fire pit before bedtime! Whereas I loved waking up in a bed comfier than my one at home to the sounds of birdsong... Definitely recommend this beautiful peaceful place.
