Just back from a two night stay at the Mecure with mixed messages.
We booked two rooms, No22 was big and fine, but No 17 was small with no wardrobe and poor décor.
The issues with No17 were taken up with the Manager who listened and was very sympathetic.
The self service breakfast on the Sunday was excellent and very relaxed even thouigh it was busy, however on the Monday being the only table in use after 9am it was rushed and they couldn't get the basics right like having the correct milk jug for 4, enogh toast etc and being asked have you finished with cereal/pastries etc before I clear away - it was just cleared away.
As a base for touring the area for a first-time visitor Bewdley was surprisingly lively, helped by the Christmas lights being switched on Saturday 1st, we had a lovely meal at the Mug House, talked to a number of friendly locals and then on the Sunday had a wonderful meal at the Severn Fine Indian Cuisine restaurant – highly recommended.
As for the Mecure chain, they probably find themselves in the same situation as others, in needing to invest in updating their rooms and enhance the customers experience of the stay.
