“Very nice weekend stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

Stayed Friday and Saturday night as we were attending a Wedding at the hotel. The service all weekend was first class the food was excellent and the grounds are lovely. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the bedroom was clean and comfortable. All in all a very pleasant stay and will look at returning to this hotel.

We booked by phone from another hotel...oh dear! We were sold a double room b and b for £129..supposedly first floor. Two flights up chippef paint stairs with dust on all surfaces along the way, to a room so small there was only room for one bedside table, and nowhere to put any luggage or to unpack. The tea making equipment when taken from the wardrobe shelf had no place, and to boil the kettle one had to crouch under the sloping ceiling with the kettle on the carpet. Tiny shower room, basin by the door in the room, and sooo stuffy. To open the window we had to move the tv table, which is when we saw that the window sill is actually crumbling with rot.
We decided this wasn't how we wanted to spend one night of our short break. We were offered a fifty pound reduction, but it was just too poor to be worth that. Moved on after a slow refund. Receptionit was embarassed by the accomodation, and did her best.

Room Tip: Don't go for room three whatever you do, and see the room before you pay.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your constructive comments and I would like to apologise that the room was not to your satisfaction. If you would like to contact me at 033gm@jupiterhotels.co.uk, I would be grateful for the opportunity to discuss this in more detail. Just one point of reference, room 3 is one of our superior rooms and has an enormous bathroom and a four poster bed, so it is possible that you are referring to a different room, However, please accept my apologies once again.

Kind Regards

Stayed here for 2 nights in February, whilst visiting Severn Valley Railway.

Rooms okay. This is a hotel where you would stay if you were attending a wedding but not for a weekend break. The bar was characterless and far from cozy.
Pool and leisure facilities were separate from hotel and required that you went outside, jacuzzi was under low roof and required that the windows were open to release the chlorine fumes.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for writing a review on trip advisor and I am grateful for the constructive comments you have shared. The swimming pool is well ventilated and is inspected several times a day for chlorine levels, we do not open the windows for this reason. I would like to apologise that the bar was not to your satisfaction, we do have so many positive comments concerning our bar and restaurant but I do understand this is personal preference and we listen to all our guests feedback when making changes within the hotel.

Thank you once again for your review

Kind regards

We stayed here recently on a dance holiday hosted by Jo and Leighton Almond-the week was FAB-U-LOUS Dahling! Aided by hotel staff, they presented an absolutely wonderful week, culminating in a fab Gala evening. The room was well appointed, looking out on the fountain which was undergoing refurbishment-culminating in actually working before we left!Staff were very helpful and quick to supply iron/board etc. Dining room was light and airy. Food was very good, although our party had to choose dinner at breakfast. Buffet breakfast was supplemented by choice of omelette and poached eggs freshly made and at no extra charge.Jugs of iced water freely available throughout our dance group stay-very welcome.Thank you.

Room Tip: Some rooms round the corner had balconies

I stayed for a night on business. The hotel is in a lovely setting and I was greeted by two ladies on reception who were most polite and friendly. The theme of helpful/friendly staff continues in the restaurant/bar and also in the leisure club which seemed separately owned.

The room was standard. It was clean and of a fair size. There were one or two lights not working as the bulbs had gone but plenty of others to make up for this. The fact the free Wi-Fi works in the room is a bonus as many hotels only offer this in public areas.

I ate at the hotel and the choice of food was good. When it was served it was extremely good. Prices are what you would expect for most hotels.

If I was in the area again I would return.

The hotel it self is in the country side near the lovely village of Bewdley. As you drive up to the hotel it looks like a very large retirement home. This impression isn’t helped as you walk into the reception there is a large stair case with a stair lifts. The hotel building itself is part Victorian and part new build.

The reception staff are friendly and helpful. I initially had a room in the new modern side of the hotel. The room itself was clean and big. There was nothing that really stood out in the room. Its was what I call a bog standard modern hotel room.

The down sides of the room was that there was no air conditioning and it was a hot day. The room was absolutely boiling and the only way I could cool the room down was to leave my windows open. The shower curtain could have done with a wash as they smelled odd.

Bridal Suite

I got upgraded to the bridal suite after the light fuse in my room blew. The bridal suite is in the Victoria part of the building. It consisted of a large bedroom, large bath room and a very large lounge. It looked quite bare but I'm assuming this was because it had not been prepared for its intended purpose. They did not even have enough toilet role, which is pretty poor. Every thing in the room was Victorian. From the the four poster bed, fire place, furniture and bathroom.

We did not dine in but found a lovely small village pub with excellent food. Breakfast was pretty average. The continental selection was small. The cooked breakfast is described a buffet but you have to order it. So its not really buffet.

Positives

Hotel staff are friendly and helpful
Resolved my room problem straight away.
Lovely bar with out door seating
Free access to community Gym/Swimming pool next to hotel
Free Wi-Fi
Next the beautiful village of Bewdley

Negatives

No air con in hotel.
Average breakfast
Bridal suite was poorly painted.
