A lovely country setting - we had booked as a half way point to meet friends. The car park was full when we arrived and entering through the bar we could see why - this small room was seriously crammed with local drinkers. The pleasant bar lady directed us round to the restaurant - which was without many people.
Food was seriously over priced. A starter of fishcakes with chilli sauce which 3 of the 4 of us had was really one tiny fish cake on a plate of salad with little sauce. Main menus were again limited in choice and limited in food on the plate. I am not a great 'fill my plate' type of person - but this was poor and costly.
What we had was pleasant but the end bill made us realise we would not be coming back again. Overpriced
On a positive we did sit at the table till late and no one seemed to mind
On a negative - on the way out you pass a window on to the kitchen - possibly time to ensure things are cleaned before staff leave - not a good sight.
