“Great place for Sunday lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2013

Lovely food and nice relaxed atmosphere. We've been here lots of times and really like it. The only downside is that it's £6.50 to walk around the grounds after lunch - it should just be a couple of pounds for those that have just eaten, otherwise it's just far too expensive.

“Be Prepared To Queue”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 November 2013

We have been here twice for Sunday lunch and on both occasions it was packed, so be prepared to queue. Most of the meat served here is raised on the sites farm and the vegetables are also grown onsite as well. I have to say that this is the best carvery I've ever been to as the meat, especially the lamb is divine. The one thing that IMHO that prevents me from giving 5 out of 5 is the way in which the tables are allocated or not as the case maybe. Unless a member of your party sits at a table whilst you queue which is not practical or more than likely you 'claim' a table with an item of clothing it is possible that you could end up playing, and losing, at musical tables.

“Fabulous Place for Sunday Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2013

We have been a couple of times, and both were equally impressive. They do table reservations for the first sitting, and after that its first-come-first-served. There are tables to sit outside, or its possible to go for a walk around the lake. The queue for the carvery seems dauntingly long, but its well worth it. They claim most of the food is locally sourced - and it certainly tastes like it. A reasonable range of drinks is served, the puddings are spectacular, and overall, it is very good value for money.

“Magical”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2013

We first went to Bodenham a couple of years ago, we always went for the utterly delicious carvery, reminds me of my nans Sunday dinners, the smell is divine. They also have lovely home made cakes amongst other meals and snacks they offer. We had never entered the gardens until we were advised to by a friend, not really being into garden walks we'd wrongly assumed that it was just a simple lake and not much else. How wrong we were! the gardens are beautiful, filled with colour in the summer, and now the trees are reds and browns, there are pools to walk round, it has been so well thought out and like being in a fairytale forest. Simply stunning. There are sheep, cows, donkeys and geese something for everyone, the kids love it. We go there more or less every Sunday. We cant wait to see it in the winter when the snow falls. This place should appeal to everyone. Highly recommended.

“fabulous tasty sunday carvery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 October 2013

Having discovered this wonderful arboretum a few years ago for the bluebells and taken out an annual ticket, we now visit several times a year for the most amazing carvery which is available throughout the week but on a Sunday is magnificent. With meat (lamb, beef, port, gammon) from the farm and the most amazing selection of vegetables, sumptious yorkshire puddings, sublime roast potatoes and topped with wonderful home made garnishes/sauces (esp. horseradish) and gravies, it's the best carvery we've had in years.
Now with a license on the restaurant, they also have excellent range of soft drinks, home made cakes, tea and coffee. Despite the pouring rain on Sunday which prevented a walk around the arboretum or feeding the ducks, the food was immensely satisfying. Service excellent too and overall great value for money. We'll be back and continue to recommend to friends and family.
