Just called in for a quick lunch which we could not fault. Reasonable prices two bacon and brie ciabattas with salad and fries, a pint and a glass of wine. Basic but lovely well presented. Must comment on the lady behind the bar, charming friendly and helpful. Yes would definitely would return

This was my first time visiting the Talbot and it won't be my last. Popped in for a drink while in the area to visit a friend and just drank on this visit. A good selection of beer, a beautiful old pub and to top it all amazing service. The beautiful young woman with glasses behind the bar poured a great pint of ale and was generally bubbly and friendly. All the lunch food I saw looked amazing I'll be returning soon to try it.

After visiting this place for the first time on Saturday with a group of women, I was astounded by the lack of staff on duty that night. As group of eight women all enjoying a rare night out together we decided to save time by looking up the menu on the website before visiting to save the staff time and our time. The waitress who took our orders was service without a smile, it took ages for the staff to return to take orders for drinks and when we ordered our desserts that after 15 mins we asked where they were only to be told we had to wait another 25 mins for coffee and desserts as they priortised taking orders from locals who turned up at 11pm!!!!!! Being a Thailand expat there is definitely better service going to Thailand.

I visted the Talbot last month and had high hopes from the reviews, however the reviews did not live up to reality, the place was very quiet and the staff were more interested in drinking behind the bar than serving. After finally getting served we sat in the main bar area by the fire and ordered our food. With it not being very busy we thought at least it wont take too long but it must have taken around an hour for our food to be brought out to us, such a shame! We ended up paying nearly £60 for 2 meals and drinks and in my eyes very expensive for a village pub and of poor quality too. We will def not be recomnending the Talbot anytime soon. Such a shame as we have tried the Thai food also and that was lovely but again far too overpriced!

We have been to the Talbot on a number of occasions for lunch and I don't think we have been disappointed. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the building and décor are charming.
We really must go for an evening meal some time and the Thai menu looks very interesting.
Can recommend.
