“Very nearly 10 out of 10!”
Reviewed 26 March 2014

We stayed overnight on our way home from Cornwall. We booked the champagne package and everything from making the initial booking was excellent. Beautiful room, fabulous bathroom, good food, excellent friendly staff, excellent champagne, amazing towels. Only one thing stops me giving 10 out of 10 - why only one sachet of hot chocolate? We had two of everything else, tea, coffee, milk but only one hot chocolate, never mind we had to share and it was lovely. Only one word of warning - don't park under the trees at the front big birds sleep there!

Room Tip: Room 29 excellent

With more imagination and attention to detail this could be very good hotel.I spent two nights here whilst on business. My room was very good and the staff were helpful. The restaurant menu, however was quite limited and made no provision for those with dietary problems.I was noy too impressed with the quality of the food. but perhaps I was unfortunate in my choice from the menu. The whole experience did not put me off, however, and I would stay there again.

The hotel was welcoming, very clean with cheerful and helpful staff, it has plenty of free parking ,
the restaurant had a good selection of reasonably priced and well cooked meals and it supplied a good buffet style breakfast If we are back in the area we w3ill return

Room Tip: the rooms at the front seemed to be the quietist

I had a single night stop here and had every thing I expected from the hotel. I could not find a power socket by the bed but that was a small issue. Due to personal circumstances I had to check out early before the restaurant opened for breakfast.

Me and my boyfriend were very impressed with the hotels interior design and clear highly maintained condition however if only one thing was bad then that was the shower as it was like a trickling tap, whether it was the water pressure or bad piping I am not sure but I did mention it to the receptionist. Anyway I was delighted with the room service I ordered Tuscan salmon with pan fried potatos and mixed salad it didn't take long to be served and the two staff were ever so polite.

From the offset this hotel exceeded our expectations and continued to do so for the whole stay! Great size rooms with everything you could need. Bar and restaurant area are great and the breakfast was superb - variety and quality (best mushrooms I've ever had)! We used the hotel as a base for a trip to the West Midlands Safari Park which is within spitting distance. Very helpful and professional staff advised we could buy discounted tickets from them which was an added bonus. It's rare you get more than you expect - but we definitely did at this hotel.
