The Abbey Golf Course
Ranked #6 of 19 things to do in Redditch

Attraction details
Owner description: Built in the late 1970's the Abbey golf course has now matured into a fine, championship standard parkland course measuring over 6,500 yards. Designed by Donald Steel, one of Britain's leading course architects the course has been extensively upgraded and lengthened in recent years. Home to the Best Western Senior Masters final in 2006 the course now regularly hosts county matches and high profile corporate days. The layout includes matured trees, lakes and on the whole the fairways are wide with the rough not too punishing, the picturesque 7th is a 192 yard drive from the medal tee with the green surrounded on three sides by the river arrow. The 13th is a challenging uphill par 4 drive between two mature oak trees at 250 yards with the green concealed out of sight at the top of the hill.We offer Par 72 18 hole course, driving range, putting green, buggy hire, teaching and coaching support.

“Good long course”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2013

I do like playing this course, they do have some long holes and some good water holes. it is kept very tidy the greens are ok, but I have only played this course in the summer. 18 holes can take up to 5 hours and tired legs.

Pretty tough with some long holes and a fair amount of water. A good challenge, but a fair course. Well maintained and pretty.

“Warm, friendly, modern”

An excellent mini break. Fantastic ambience and staff were very helpful. Dinner was excellent-a varied cuisine that broke with the norm!
A good course, not too busy considering a summer weekend at a reasonable price!

“A Course of Challenges and Contrasts”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

The staff in the Golf shop are good lads (and knowledgeable), whilst the Ground staff ensure a course in excellent condition, regardless of the extremes of weather we suffer.
The course is challenging - but fair - to all levels/handicaps, whilst the 19th hole continues the favourable impressions created elsewhere.
An extremely enjoyable outing

nice hotel well situated but the lack of consistency lets them down, especially on the food side, it's never to be taken for granted that it is going to be good. The Sunday buffet lunch is quite good.
