Owner description: Built in the late 1970's the Abbey golf course has now matured into a fine, championship standard parkland course measuring over 6,500 yards. Designed by Donald Steel, one of Britain's leading course architects the course has been extensively upgraded and lengthened in recent years. Home to the Best Western Senior Masters final in 2006 the course now regularly hosts county matches and high profile corporate days. The layout includes matured trees, lakes and on the whole the fairways are wide with the rough not too punishing, the picturesque 7th is a 192 yard drive from the medal tee with the green surrounded on three sides by the river arrow. The 13th is a challenging uphill par 4 drive between two mature oak trees at 250 yards with the green concealed out of sight at the top of the hill.We offer Par 72 18 hole course, driving range, putting green, buggy hire, teaching and coaching support.

Stayed in a executive room which was really nice with a balcony overlooking the golf course. The room was really nice and really clean, great choice of different bars to choose from, the staff are all really nice, would definitely come back again

All round a great place to play golf and relax in the spa afterwards followed by drinks and food on the sun terrace. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Good condition and fabulous views with swans ,ducks and baby birds everywhere. Watch out for the grass snakes they gave us quite a turn when spotted.

Played here last week and went in to the bar for food in the clubhouse / bar over an hour before out tee time. The food whilst ok took so long we had to rush it to get out on time.
Then we went onto the course. Obviously the course has been moved around as none of the Garmin or other gps systems worked. Please sort this out. After about 4 holes we caught up with the group in front of us and then it was a wait at the tee at every hole thereafter. No Marshall's no nothing.
Course was ok but not spectacular

Golf course is maintained poorly couldn't tell the difference between fairway and rough. Greens are over used. Hotel is clean, food was excellent and spa is what you would expect.
