We as a group had 1 family room and 1 double room, for the price the room facilities were of a good standard - the shower had good pressure, tea and coffee facilities with free view tv and a comfortable bed with nice pillows. Restaurant was good (steak was cooked perfectly) average price range.
We opted for breakfast in the room great service and on time.
Great stay with lovely staff .

We didn't stay but paid a visit to the restaurant for a Chateaubriand.
On arrival we shown to our table and our drinks order taken. When they were brought to the table I had a pint of cider and a large red wine dropped directly into my lap. Fortunately, we don't live far away so having grabbed a couple of plastic bags I returned home to get changed.
The second attempt fared a little better. We ordered prawn cocktail, which was a little sparse and a cheesy garlic bread, this was very good.
The Chateaubriand was ordered medium-rare, it was a little on the rare side but much better that than overcooked. It came with chips, onion rings and salad and these were average and adequate.
We shared a cheese and biscuit platter for afters having been told there was cheddar, brie and stilton. I had to ask for the cheddar,
When the bill arrived we weren't charged for the afters, I was expecting a little more considering the soaking I'd received.
Overall the experience was a bit disappointing. The steak was excellent but other things let it down for example provision of a cloth napkin instead of the small paper one would be a vast improvement.

Room Tip: We didn't use a room

Very good value for money, clean room and bathroom and comfortable bed. We found the staff friendly and very helpful with our requests. Breakfast was very good too. We would stay again if we were in the area and would recommend.

I wanted to buy a Groupon voucher for Sunday lunch. I have messaged Blue Inn twice to ask if there's a vegetarian option and have received no response. I'm giving up now because if they can't even be bothered to reply to my messages they don't deserve our business. Pity, as we're local and had it been good we could have recommended them.

I came here for a Mother's Day meal and wanted to add a review because the food was excellent, and really well presented. We had a '3 courses for £19.95' deal, which was really good value. I can highly recommend the rocky road caramel brownie! Looking forward to returning soon.

Having just spent the weekend here, I'd be happy to stay again. I'll also be recommending it to people.

The rooms are fairly small, but it's not the sort of place you go to spend a huge amount of time in the room, the only thing I would say is a more comfortable chair would have been nice, something more like an armchair - but ultimately lounging on the bed is fine.

The food was well above expectations, the 1st night we went with the 3 course chefs specials which at 15 pounds for 3 courses is fantastic value - the second night we went from the menu and tried the steak, which was also just as good.

The breakfast selection was one of the best I've seen outside of a major chain hotel/B&B but the quality far outstrips them

All the staff were friendly, and took a real pride in what they were doing and that showed in the end result. George is a great host at breakfast, and is clearly enjoying his role.

Getting to the NEC or LG Arena is a cinch from here, and if you have kids or feel like slumming it food wise there is a local McDonald's within a minute or so by car
