Booked through a deal as the picture showed a well presented meal and the offer seemed to good to miss.
We were not disappointed. We were greeted by a fine young man, who took our coats and placed them safely onto hangers into a cupboard and although early for our booking, were shown immediately to our table and presented with a menu. The wine order, part of the deal, was brought within minutes and appeared to be of good quality. A lovely young lady then took our order with no apparent limits from the menu.
The starters of Broccoli & Stilton Soup was hot and very tasty and Nachos for my partner was plentiful and tasty also. The Good size Rib-Eye steaks were exactly as was ordered with Salad a large mushroom, grilled tomato and chips ( in a very small saucepan, nice touch, original maybe ? ) very well presented .To round off a splendid cup of coffee.
Do not be put off by the ALL Blue buildings of the hotel. The Restaurant was clean and tables placed far enough away so that you are not on top of one another.
Congratulations to ALL concerned a Very Very pleasant dining experience.

We booked this through a deal website as we wanted to visit some local attractions and the overall price with attraction tickets included was reasonable.

The accommodation was small but adequate as we were only going to be sleeping there. Could be improved by having a socket near the mirror for hair appliances however i was really disappointed in the standards of cleanliness in the bathroom, the plastic runner along the bottom of the shower was filthy. I know these can be removed and cleaned or even replaced for a few pounds and this was a real let down.

Before booking the trip I reviewed the menu in the restaurant to ensure that we would have a good choice, the menu on the website looks great, the main menu available to us was a completely different story. There was minimal choice and even with only 3 children's meals there was no mash available - not sure how hard it is to peel and boil some potatoes...

We also weren't advised of this until after we had chosen - this should have been advised as we sat down.

The food we did order was cooked ok but it wasn't the best standard. We are by no means food snobs but would expect more than we got in terms of taste and variety.

In contrast the breakfast was great, hot items cooked to order and a selection of cold items and breads to choose from.

The staff were friendly, although when we checked out we were not asked about our stay which we found a little odd.

This hotel could be great but there needs to be some serious work put into the menu and cleanliness of areas that can sometimes be overlooked.

We booked as a family of 3, on a living social deal. I found it excellent value for money. Rooms are small but we dont spend all of time in there. There are plug sockets , shame they arent next to mirror. You get tv and tea coffee making in there too. Restaurant I found great too, we had a sharing platter and steak was cooked to perfection we also got 25% off our drinks as staying in hotel. Overall yes I would stay again, great break.

we had a meal at this restaurant on a weekday evening, it was quite busy but not overpowering. Service was good and we were dealt with promptly and very politely.

I observed the other guests meals before making a choice from the menu which is a bit lacking in lustre of choice for my tastes.Pawn cocktail starters, soup of the day advertised but not available.
Choosing Potato skins and recieving 4 skins with a slice of bacon draped over all 4 with melted cheese. Not the best but edible and hot. Prawn cocktail needs to be improved as the shelled prawn was covered in sauce and was messy to eat ! perhaps better served separately.

the steak was supposed to be more rare than medium and was more medium and a bit chewy, not cooked on a hot griddle I suspect. the mushrooms tasted deep fried as they were swimming in oil and did not need to be that greasy. i was told I would have a separate salad but got a "Garnish" not a salad. i usually make a point of informing if I have issues but on this occasion i did not want to make a scene whilst with friends. we used a voucher and i think this is the reason for the quality of food, however this should not happen. I am not put off going again just leaving it a while to let it improve.

The interior of the place is nicely done and could be improved by serving a better meal. seeing as it has not been going for long I would give it a second chance.

We booked a number of rooms for friends and family who were staying for our daughter's wedding. Most stayed for two nights and, although the hotel does not normally offer lunch, a buffet was laid on for lunch on one of the days. The chef was happy to listen to our suggestions as to the menu for the lunch and the food was complimented by those who attended. The chef went further with breakfast, talking to the foreign guests and preparing some dishes to meet their children's rather unusual dietary requests. We had dealt with Rachel on reception about the booking and she went way out of her way to keep things simple and to meet our requirements, even changing her day off so as to ensure eveything went well at the buffet lunch.
The feedback that we had from our friends and family regarding the rooms was all positive so a great team effort from the staff.

We visited the blue steak on 'a deal' for a two course meal with wine, we didn't have huge expectations as the deal was so cheap but we were very pleasantly surprised! From the moment we stepped through the door the staff made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

we both had king prawn cocktail starter and sirloin steak main, both courses were excellent. Again because of the price we thought the steak might be a bit grisly or of poor quality but it was excellent and cooked to perfection.

The wine was also very nice, especially as I had both glasses as my hubby doesn't drink wine,

We would definitely return to the blue steak and am keeping my eyes open for another deal :-)
