“Delicious food!”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

Our second visit to Legends Restaurant and again we had a fabulous meal. We booked early evening so the restaurant was very quiet. There is a good selection of meats, grills and fish on the menu. The presentation of every course was beautiful, not what you would expect from a local place. I had the smoked mackerel and salmon pate and my husband chose the potted shrimps which were all really tasty. The mains were just as good the duo of lamb and fish pie were piping hot and really filling. My rhubarb frangipan tart was a little dry but the ginger ice cream and dusting of chocolate to accompany it were yummy. The service throughout the meal was very attentive and friendly without being overbearing as in some places when the restaurant is quiet. I like the fact that you are offered a jug of ice water to accompany the meal without having to ask and the lovely warm freshly made bread roll to start are the little touches which make a pleasant dining experience.

We were very lucky to see the summer offer of 40% off the menu prices on the internet and the total bill was an absolute bargain for such lovely food and great service. We will definitely visit again and would recommend eating here to anyone who likes a treat for a great price.

“Lancashire Legends”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

The Legends restaurant was empty when we went in early with our young daughter but couldn't see a seat when we left at 8......on a Thursday too! the food was sublime, didn't expect it to be honest but would certainly consider the Red halls 'Legends' for a good night out. Prices not over the top for the area. We had the Parfait, Veal Bone Marrow (awesome) then shared the Cote de Boeuf, as it was. Make sure you try the Millionaire's Shortbread, simply brilliant!

“Great Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

Had sunday lunch here with the family last week, great value and lovely food, would highly recommend. The restaurant manager actually carved the meat at the table so you can actually see what your getting which is a nice touch haven't seen that before. The menu choice is good and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed, just what you need on a Sunday afternoon, thanks to the staff

“GOOD SUNDAY LUNCH”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

This was the first time we have dined here today and six of was went to try out Sunday lunch.

The restaurant is lovely and for £17.95 for 3 courses is certainly very good value. Good choice on the menu and it was nice to see although some people might think it is old fashioned the joints were carved at your table. The vegetable selection was excellent and plenty of it. Throughout the service was very good and attentive.

The lounge for drinks is large and my only gripe is the flat screen televisions being on but they also do a lounge menu so I presume this catering for them.

We enjoyed it very much and will certainly go back and try the restaurant one Saturday evening.

“The fish that swam away”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

Just arrived home from Legends after a birthday treat for my husband, the staff were friendly and very polite, wish i could say all the food was as good.
Starters were tasty, but the scallops are over priced, just short of ten pounds for two,the rabbit main course that my husband had was nice and presented well, sad to say my main course of Monkfish baji looked good but the fish had left the batter and swam away, only one baji out of four had any in and this was not cooked inside, and one was so over cooked that when i tried to cut it my knee became my plate, the waiter could see at least half my meal had been left, didnt want to make a fuss as this was supposed to be a happy occasion,so ordered desserts again presented lovely, again a let down- asked for the bill paid and left,no appology-no discount will not be going again and its a shame because i never give reviews normally and my first is a bad one.Expected much better for £70 for two.
