First time I had visited although our company use the Hotel regularly.. Renovation work going on and main areas look good but my room was a bit "tired" and could do with a spruce up.. otherwise all was fine for an overnight business stay.. Bar snack type evening meal and breakfast good although had to ask twice for a pot of coffee and the buffet type hot food was a bit slow to be out initially and then came through staggered..

No major complaints though and would have no issues staying again as and when required with business,

Stayed here whilst on business. Hotel is being renovated although it looks almost complete.
Reception and welcome very good and my room on the first floor had a nice bathroom and large bed with 4 pillows.
Food from the restaurant was very nice although it took almost an hour to arrive and the waiters/waitress were very apologetic explaining there was a new chef.
Only small negative was the lounge area is at the end of the large reception and there was no TV to watch the world cup so ended up in my room
Otherwise an enjoyable stay and will come here again

Stayed here over night on business. Good location and a well appointed hotel. Reception was excellent and made a good impression. Unfortunately the restaurant lets the whole experience down. While the menu is interesting with some good food pairings the service was dire! We waited 45 minutes for our starters, both of which were of cold preparation so didnt need cooking! The arrival of the mains was slightly quicker. It would have been forgivable if the restaurant had been full, but it's the first time for a very very long time that we have had to ask where our selection was. Coffee is served in the lounge which is Lovley, although the barman standing in front of a large coffee menu admitted to us he had never made a macciato and asked us which cup to use. Clearly the staff try hard but there are some obvious training needs to be addressed.

This was my second stay at The Victoria Hotel and once again it was lovely. The room and the hotel itself are spotlessly clean, the lounge is very inviting and comfortable and the staff are very friendly.
The only thing I would like to see is a more varied menu in the restaurant as they range of food on offer is quite small but delicious.

We had our wedding reception at the hotel on 30th May all the management and staff worked so hard to make are wedding day perfect every detail was taken care of so we could enjoy the day and not worry about anything. The staff are very friendly and conscientious about every part of their job.

The food and drink was amazing and out of this world all our guests have commented on the whole experience of the day and the venue itself saying how fantastic it is.

Myself and my husband stayed in the bridal suite and was blown away by how lovely the room was every detail was there from the chocolates and champagne to the swans made from the towels which was a lovely surprise to have after a long day with our guest.

We could not recommend The Victoria Hotel enough and are looking forward to going back to spend our 1st wedding anniversary at a place that made are wedding day even more special.

Stayed at the Victoria Hotel June 2014. We booked a room at last minute and checked-in an hour later. The reception/lounge area was really nice.
Our room on 1st floor was very clean and tidy with lovely views of the garden area and we were very happy to see a large bath in the bathroom! Very comfy bed, flat screen tv with freeview channels and tea and coffee facilities.

We ate in the restaurant which was really nice and clean. The waitress was very polite and friendly and was quick with taking our orders, bringing us drinks and kept asking if we needed anything. We ordered off the Sunday menu 2 courses for £14.95. The starter was fresh and hot but I was full after it and was then faced with a huge beef dinner after which was overwhelming but it was definitely worth the money and its better than still being hungry!!

We sat out in the garden with our drinks which was really nice!
Overall lovely quiet hotel, great food, great night
