This used to be called Mallons. It is an indian restaurant with a guest house attached with 5 rooms. When we went we were the only people in the guest house. The room decor was ok, with laminate flooring, at first glance it looked quite modern. It obviously hadnt been used for a while as the bedding smelt damp. There was no remote for the tv and you couldnt get all of the main channels. We had two small towels only which looked well worn. There was no bin in the room or bathroom to put rubbish in. The room was very cold as the heating was obviously on a timer and going off and on according to the timer and not when we wanted it on. When we mentioned this it still didnt get rectified. We had to be in before midnight because the staff went home then and locked the door. This caused us some inconvenience as we wanted to be out later than that time. It was so damp in the room overnight that it set my asthma off. In the morning, one of the staff, who tried his best and was very pleasant, came in especially to cook our breakfasts. It was so cold in the restaurant where it was served that I had to put my coat on. Breakfast was served without asking us what we wanted, I am vegetarian and was given a full english cooked breakfast and a tub of flora on the table for the (cold) slice of toast we got. The food was greasy and the toast tasted of curry, we were served one drink only. The staff didnt seem to know how much to charge us, they didnt take any details of us, not even a name, we could have easily left in the morning without paying as there was no one there. In short, the staff were pleasant but the experience was not good, definitely not worth £60 per night. We have stayed in worse.....but we wouldnt return to this place.
