Tempted by other Trip Advisor reviews we decided to book overnight accommodation here after a relative's landmark birthday celebration close by.
What can I say that hasn't already been written?.
What a find - It is difficult to image that The Shippon was once a cow shed!
On arrival we were met by Alice, offered a hot drink and a choice of rooms. We chose the "Jersey" room - a spacious first floor room with moden ensuite shower room and double aspect countryside views. The room was immaculate, the bed wonderfully comfortable, plenty of hot water from a good powerful shower. . Excellent choice at breakfast time.
During our fifty or so years of travelling we've stayed in many many places throughout the world; I only wish they had all been as professional and enjoyable as The Shippon. Could not fault.

We had a wonderful stay at The shippon. We arrived after a very long wet and windy drive from Kent. Alice welcomed us with a cup of tea and a chat.
Our room and bathroom were great and we had great views over the moors.
Every detail for comfort was provided. Tea, coffee, yummy biscuits and chocolates.
Our room was very warm and cosy despite the howling Autumn gale that was blowing outside!.
The breakfasts were delicious.
There is free WiFi too!
We stayed for three nights whilst we were visiting family and friends in Delph and Denshaw. Thank you Alice, Janet and Stephen R

We've just returned from a weekend with friends and stayed here with Alice. She looked after us in a brilliant way. Excellent bedrooms, breakfasts, service and welcome. We could not have asked for more - thanks.

Thank you for your review. I am very pleased you enjoyed your weekend and hope that you weren't too tired after all your dancing, and cart pulling.

Enjoyed another night at the Shippon, lovely rooms, great service and a wonderful breakfast. The power shower was amazing and beds really comfortable, especially after a hard day riding. Nothing was too much trouble for Alice. Couldn't ask for anything better.

My friend and I stayed here the first night before starting cycling the Pennine Bridleway. It's perfectly located for this, and Alice kindly gave us directions to the best place to join the Bridleway rather than doubling back on ourselves. It was a short cycle ride from Greenfield Station and Alice found us somewhere to safely lock our bikes to when we arrived. Very welcoming, beautiful, large room with comfy bed and the breakfast in the morning definitely set us up for a 25 mile cycle ride. Would definitely recommend this place, it was a shame we were only booked in for one night!

We were visiting Delph for the annual Whit Friday Brass Band contest. We stayed at The Shippon for 2 nights. Alice, the owner was very welcoming, friendly and knowledgable about the area. It is located just under half a mile from Delph so in easy walking distance of The contest area (part from the uphill walk back).
The bedroom and the dining room, were very well appointed, clean and well decorated. The breakfasts were excellent and cooked to our specification.
This is a B&B well worth a visit, we would definitely go again when in the are.

Lovely reception on arrival, checked in no problems, lovely sized room, spotless, good sized bathroom with walk in shower, all the ammenities that you could need. The bed was so comfy i was quite shocked at how comfortable and how well i slept. The breakfast was excellent, full english with unlimited tea coffee, fresh juice, cereals, toast etc. The ownner was lovely and very hospitable. Would recommend to anyone, so peaceful and lovely views. Very reasonably priced.
