we would like to compliment ALICE on her beautiful accommodation and hospitality.
we arrived from Dublin after a stormy flight that was diverted to Birmingham, then a bus trip to Manchester and on to the tranquility of "THE SHIPPON" ..spotless clean, warm & very homely surroundings,A breakfast to last you the day. with Delph village a walk away, it was like we were part of the Emmerdale set. will definitely visit again in summer time to take advantage of the fabulous scenery and history of the area, keep up the good work.
may the luck of the IRISH always be with you, Ginger Gerry & gang

Room Tip: all 4 rooms have their own style and views.

We stayed at the shippon whilst attending a wedding in the area. The rooms are immaculate and very big the beds so comfortable and the bathroom was a great size for our little family. Our room had a full size bath that was great with having a small child. The breakfast the next morning was delicious with a large selection of cereals yoghurts and fruit juices followed by an amzing full English breakfast which you could tell was freshly cooked. The lady who owns the shippon is so friendly and welcoming we coukdnt have asked for a better stay.

We were most fortunate in finding this fantastic B & B in Delph. My niece and family have recently moved to the village, and we wanted to spend New Year's Day with them all without giving them the added burden of providing sleeping accommodation. The Shippon is a delightful place: simply but tastefully furnished, immaculately clean, the room facilities excellent. The views from the building are stunning, even on a grey day in early January. A terrific breakfast , together with the pleasure of enjoying some time with the owner, Alice, was a suitably splendid conclusion to a super stay. We shall most certainly return.

Tempted by other Trip Advisor reviews we decided to book overnight accommodation here after a relative's landmark birthday celebration close by.
What can I say that hasn't already been written?.
What a find - It is difficult to image that The Shippon was once a cow shed!
On arrival we were met by Alice, offered a hot drink and a choice of rooms. We chose the "Jersey" room - a spacious first floor room with moden ensuite shower room and double aspect countryside views. The room was immaculate, the bed wonderfully comfortable, plenty of hot water from a good powerful shower. . Excellent choice at breakfast time.
During our fifty or so years of travelling we've stayed in many many places throughout the world; I only wish they had all been as professional and enjoyable as The Shippon. Could not fault.

We had a wonderful stay at The shippon. We arrived after a very long wet and windy drive from Kent. Alice welcomed us with a cup of tea and a chat.
Our room and bathroom were great and we had great views over the moors.
Every detail for comfort was provided. Tea, coffee, yummy biscuits and chocolates.
Our room was very warm and cosy despite the howling Autumn gale that was blowing outside!.
The breakfasts were delicious.
There is free WiFi too!
We stayed for three nights whilst we were visiting family and friends in Delph and Denshaw. Thank you Alice, Janet and Stephen R

Room Tip: our room was called the Freisian room (all rooms named after a breed of cow) All the rooms are en s...
