Skate City

Visited Saturday afternoon with girlfriend and 3year old son, my son and I have own skates, girlfriend did not, even though we arrived only 15 minutes after opening when girlfriend went to get skates she was told "sorry we have none your size left" so she had to make do with next size up,
As I had read on other reviews yes the staff were friendly, polite and helpful, that is definitely the only positive to come out of this waisted Saturday. Afternoon, the rink itself is unbelievably dark "comparable to the cinema at the start of a movie" the rink surface I think is concrete breaking up and badly repaired, prity much 70% of total area,no floor Marshall, people skating in all directions Clockwise/anti clockwise, music way to loud, no DJ for any kind of interaction,
Summing up, honestly I've never felt so cheated out of £15, I write this review for 2 reasons, hopefully management read and try make improvements, and anybody wanting to go skating, please avoid, any other skating venue in the north west has far more to offer

I have been to Skate City with my child a fair few times in the past months. I first visited around November time and the place seemed really run down with not many people and quiet music. I came in Sunday to find the main skaters were back. A ginger guy who has lots of time on his hands and a boy in a hat who is also an amazing skater. I gathered that they both work there but seeing them two skate again together made me and my child extremely happy! It inspires us to become good skaters to be at their level. The cafe is stocked up brilliantly and I just think it has really taken a turn for the best, is a true shame to see the business up for sale as it is going to be a hard place to fill. I am really writing this just to explain that the employees are a main attraction as they're always helping and always smiling an Skate City has become a brilliant place to go! So I recommend everybody to go, it's amazing:)

This place is falling apart. Not to mention it's filthy dirty and there aren't even enough skates to go round. Shocking place.
