Built in 1908 by Sir Alfred Brumwell Thomas the 'Wedding Cake' town hall is one of Stockport's iconic buildings. Situated on the A6 opposite another of Stockport's historic buildings, Millennium House (formerly a dispensary, built in 1792 and which later in 1833 became Stockport Infirmary). This building was renovated in 2002 for office use. If you are interested in architecture, both buildings are well worth a look.
