Great place, very interesting, beautiful tudor decor. Used to go here as a girl when it was the Staircase Cafe. Kids loved it but needs to be cheaper sorry.

“A lovely place”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

Our children love it here. They especially like the quill pens and ink in the counting house. It has been beautifully restored with rooms through the ages.

“What a delightful little gem!”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

The Staircase House is hidden in "old" Stockport, set high on the hill overlooking the town and opposite the very attractive Victorian Market. A house of many ages, beautifully restored and brilliant interpretation. Audio guides took you all through the house, you could stop and browse, take photographs, sit and listen to "extras" on the guide too. A real little gem and so pleased that it was saved from demolition.

I didn't realise this was here and what it was really. Interesting place and passed an afternoon. Loads for children to do. Interesting and fun.
