I stayed here for 3 night for a family party in Stockport. The location of the The Hotel is in a good location, a short walk to the centre of Stockport. The rooms are comfortable and the facilities good, the shower was nice and powerful. The staff are excellent, very helpful, polite and happy (which can be unusual for some hotels). The attached restaurant has an excellent selection of food and good value. There is some noise from aircraft flying over but you get used to that or take ear plugs with you.(I always have them when staying in hotels) Will be staying here again on my next trip to Manchester.

great room, good customer service, very relaxing stay very close to the place that we were visiting. could not fault the the hotel at all. the toilet in the bar area of the dining room was not checked often enough as there was no toilet paper in either toilet. the one of the staff after her shift stayed to have a drink and needless to say her language at the bar was not nice at all, we left the bar and went to our room.

Taking advantage of the £29 per night offer we stopped here for a long weekend whilst in manchester visiting family. Initial impressions were good with a friendly and helpful reception desk and plenty of free parking.

Located a few minutes drive away from Stockport town centre, there is a restaurant on site (though we didnt use it) and its easily accessible from the Manchester M60 ring road. Other than the odd bus, limited public transport locally though you could walk to Stockport train station about 15-20 mins away. Didnt appear to be much within local walking distance and the hotel is at the top of a steep hill so myabe not suitable for those with mobility issues unless you have a car.

Our room (#3) was large and generally up to the standards you would expect from Premier Inn with a huge double ziplock bed, flatscreen TV, a choice of pillows and most importantly on a wet January weekend, heating that actually worked!

Bathroom was generally clean and tidy with a large bath, fluffy white towels and lots of lovely hot water for a long luxurious soak!

The room itself is definitely one of the older types with furniture and decor that could do with a freshen up but was perfectly adequate for the purpose.

Main reason I gave this 4 stars was the connecting door into room 4 through which we could clearly hear our neighbours - general conversation, TV and, well, pretty much everything else....!

To be fair, as I suspect they could hear us as well, the noise wasnt excessive and it didnt keep us awake. I did however mention the issue on leaving and the staff apologised and said they were aware of the problem.

At this sort of price, its difficult to find much to fault this Premier Inn and its definitely better quality than the similar priced Travelodges. Maybe next time I will just ask for a non-incter connecting room!

Room Tip: Ask for non-inter connecting room!

I stayed at Stockport Central Premier Inn on an extremely wet and windy Friday night. Reception staff were extremely helpful in giving me local directions and I had a most peaceful nights sleep in a warm, clean and comfortable room for £29.00! Why would I stay anywhere else? Its a no brainer!

Booked 2 rooms over the Christmas period for a family of 5. Allocated in the annex. It was cold, worn, unpleasant smell in one of the rooms and some of the facilities did not work, i.e. broken tv in one room and broken hairdryer in the other. No hand towels supplied in one of the rooms. The main problem with the annex is no phones in the rooms to report any of this. There is one phone in the entrance hall and after complaining that we were cold and the heaters could not be turned up, we were told that if we were cold, to contact reception on the phone and they could bring over a spare duvet or plug in heater. This was not acceptable in the middle of night to have to nip down the stairs to the entrance hallway in my nightie!

Beds too firm for our liking, our family of 5 all found them to be uncomfortable and with the cold and the hard beds we did not sleep well on any of the nights, thankfully we spent some nights in other Premier Inns (London Tower Bridge and Liverpool Albert Dock) both siginificantly better but beds still too firm.

We should have challenged under the Good Night Sleep Guarantee but the staff were so kind it didnt feel right to do so.

One member of staff, Jonny, was particularly helpful. They stored our ample luggage while we stayed elsewhere and when, on our return, we were allocated rooms on the upper floor in the annex again, he helped us drag our bags up the stairs (no lifts).

On the surface the rooms seemed adequate but they were very worn compared to the others we stayed in. Plus black stains on the grouting made the bathrooms feel unclean.

Breakfast times were not made clear and are not printed on the menu where you would expect it to be found (look for the print on the card with your key - a tip that would have helped us a lot). Our children had jetlag so it was quite a big deal to wake them up an hour earlier than necessary to discover breakfast started an hour later on that day, then missed breakfast altogether when we learned that breakfast finished an hour earlier the next day.

When we did have breakfast it was delicious and again the staff were fantastic.

We booked most of the rooms on the £29 per night rate, had we paid full whack the disappointment would have been much more.

We may need to stay again for convenience as it is the only hotel in central Stockport, but given the choice would opt to stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: Avoid the annex if possible.
