Typically good Premier Inn that I've stayed at loads of time this year. Not much to say about the brand - it is exactly what it says, sometimes more, but never less....but the staff in this particular location are very welcoming and could put lots of 4* places to shame. I get remembered and greeted personally, very well looked after and made to feel welcome which is a big bonus when I'm working away.
Unfair to single out any particular member of staff as they're all good, but if I can recall the names, Zoe and Denise were introduced to me and were very welcoming.
The place is a little bit tired but is having a refurb, but it's the staff that count.
Stay here if you're in the North West and you won't be disappointed. The locality isn't great but it's a stopover for business and the food's good value.

This was my second stay at this Premier Inn, and the staff were so friendly and nice I felt I had to write a review. Check in has always been easy, rooms very clean, breakfast staff absolutely lovely....as a vegetarian they made an effort to get veggie sausages for me which I certainly did not expect' up North' (particularly as the breakfast was large enough to begin with). Recommended stay if you are doing business in the Cheadle/Stockport area and need to keep to budget.

Although its not as plush as other PTIs, it was clean and comfortable. It appears to be an old hotel that has had a lot of cosmetic work done. The style is a little dated but its all had fresh paint. As an example, the bathroom is a bit aged but they've put new furniture in, including shower, sink, toliet and shower curtain.
The bed was usual PTI standard - excellent.
The evening meal was in the upstairs Beefeater restaurant - another reliable chain. No complaints at all - very nice.
The bar downstairs, whilst pleasant, lacked some basics - like atmosphere and decent beer. My friend had a pint of Carling which tasted of the pipe cleaning fluid and I had a pint of Tetley, which was flat and unappetising, We soon found a pub down the road.
Breakfast was upstairs - £7.50 for the full monty, which was unlimited fry-up, fresh fruit, dry fruit, tea and coffee etc. Very reasonable by hotel standards.
Overall a pleasant stay and would consider again, but I may also be curious enough to try somwhere else.

As you can see from my profile, i have stayed at Many of the Travel Inns. We stayed here one night in May while passing through on the way north. On first impressions the hotel is small and old looking from the outside. Inside is only partially better. Don't get me wrong, its clean and well decorated, it just lacked something.
However, the room was large and comfortable, beds gave a good sleep. The only problem with the room, for me was the most important. The bathroom...The shower was very poor and to be honest, i'd have done better with a watering can and the floor of the bathroom was in a huge need of repair. It felt like walking on many sponges glued together. I was worried at first that we may fall through it. Very worrying.
If you are passing through like us and need a base for the night, don't get me wrong, this place will do fine. Anything longer than a night and i'm sure you'd do well to head to another of the PTI Hotels close by.
The restaurant that is attached to the hotel was very nice, served great food and we wern't kept waiting for too long.
This hotel is a mixed bag. For a nights stay where the main thing is the bed and only a quick was and shave is needed, this hotel is perfect and a nice location, set back behind the pub so you can't hear the traffic.

After an appalling night's stay in another hotel, and being 150 miles from home, feeling very poorly and vomiting, this hotel was approached at 11am ish and a room requested. The receptionist was friendly, polite and helpful and fortunatley they had a room available, (normal check in time is usually 2pm) Checkin was quick and efficent, and our room was clean, aired and more than adequate, the bedding, towels and bathroom all to a high standard.

Housekeeping had not realised the room was taken, and made an attempt to enter, on hearing the situation, extra towels, refreshments were swifty brought, with the pleasant offer of anything else just ask.

The whole staff including the restarant staff were exceptionally friendly and went the extra mile, even though due to me being ill, we over slept for breakfast, an suitable alternative was offered over one hour after serving time.

i would recomend the travel inn to anyone, its not frilly or fussy, but you know what your getting, clean bedding, clean rooms and friendly service.

i would deffinately stay there again, if in the area, and have contacted their customer services to relay my compliments.

Stayed: August 2006
