Very clean, comfortable spacious room. Staff were very helpful and friendly they are a credit to the hotel. Great location handy for the town centre. Good choice for breakfast continental or full English . Also did an Easter egg hunt for the kids

this is our 3rd time at barnsley premier inn and will def be returning again. central for barnsley only a 5 minute walk, we got the train into sheffield/meadowhall shopping centre and it was only £4 return, brilliant, we love this premiere inn out of all the ones we have stayed in. staff so friendly and so quiet of a night time even though it was fully booked for the easter weekend.

We have stayed here before and each stay has been superb. The room for my wife and myself was clean, comfortable and large. The facilities are good though a small safe would be useful and a phone to reception handy. We overlooked town end which is a wonderful urban view. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The staff are organised, knowledgable efficient and they restored my faith in human nature when my wife, who had left her iPad in the bar, found it had been handed in by the night cleaner and was locked in the safe. The breakfast is a buffet service which is reasonably priced, with lots of choice, fresh juice, fruit cereals and for those who want a full English breakfast it is available. We will stay again next time we are in Barnsley.

Room Tip: Overlook Townsend The view is a superb townscape.

This is a budget hotel!? Several "better class" hotels could learn a thing. A short scoot from M1.J27 to a covered car park on Shambles Rd. The hotel does not have direct access from Sackville St. Lift to floor 4 then across to the hotel. Warm and friendly welcome from staff who are extremely helpfull. The room 406, which appeared to be freshly refirbished, was slick and clean. It also commanded excellent views across Barnsley to the west. Conveniently situated with only a three minute walk to the shopping centre. Barnsley does have lot a vacant shops but someone is putting in a great deal of effort as the town is well presented with plenty of wonderful flowerbeds, manicured grass verges and fountains. Neat clean and tidy.

A hotel with no facilities. No room service. A phone to the room is a basic requirement and they did not have at least that. The breakfast was terrible. There was no choice to pick. It's embarrassing to keep asking for breakfast one by one.
