As an RSPB member, along with my husband, we look on Old Moor as our local patch and make regular visits all year round.
Old Moor is a wonderful place to visit. It's cheaper than therapy, certainly more entertaining and leaves you feeling so relaxed you will be planning your next visit before you leave!.
The staff and volunteers are all approachable and don't mind answering your questions and are always ready to help.
Other visitors to the reserve are often able to answer birding questions too when you are in the hides....ie...helping identify birds by sight or even by song!
Young birders are always made to feel welcome by the centre staff which makes it a good place for families...........remember, your children are the bird watchers and conservationists of the future!
And don't forget the cafe, I can recommend the hot chocolate with all the trimmings and the carrot cake, whilst others love the lemon drizzle cake..........and vegetarians are catered for too.
