I bought a certain discount voucher and visited this attraction. I had a wonderful time. The area surrounding the wetlands is flat with a few small inclines so it is suitable for wheelchair users and those visiting with pushchairs. There are regular activities and events, some overnight excursions planned to similar sites. There were pond dipping kits for younger children, although I wound have like to have a go myself. Children were netting tadpoles, water beetles and other creatures then identifying them from special laminated cards around the pond. There are many hides along the walk where you can sit and bird watch or just enjoy the peaceful surroundings and views of the local area. Great day and I will certainly be going back for another visit.

Great for bird spotting and has a kiddies nature trail thingie. Staff are all volunteers and the cafe is excellent, best chocolate cake ever. The gift shop is a little expensive but everything goes to the RSPB, entry fee payable if not an RSPB member.

Spent a lovely day here today. The staff were very friendly and helpful explaining things to the children and showing them things and giving us lots of information. The kids loved the explorer back pack containing lots for them to do including a bug box and binoculars, they also had lots of fun pond dipping. They also got a laminated sheet with lots of wildlife to spot and tick off when they stopped them. Lots of things as you go round to keep them occupied too, on every picnic bench is a plaque with a game idea on it. Frogs to jump over to play leap from and a great play area. The family hide is a great idea you don't have to worry about trying to keep the children quiet. We were so impressed that we became members so that we can visit again whenever we want. No pressure to join the lady asked if we were members and talked about the membership and we said we would think about it and come back if we decided to join which we did.

What a wonderful place to spend a day. It is really well set out for everyone, the hides are great, plenty of birds on the water and other wildlife, lovely helpful staff. Lots of information in the hides on the different types of birds, it was so peaceful and relaxing sat watching the birds from the hides. There are plenty of benches and picnic tables as well as a lovely cafe with a great terrace. A great place to visit and support.
