Arrival - Location in beautiful village , rolling fields and gardens well maintained. Welcome greeting very friendly , showed to room and introduced to facilities. Very good start to this stay.
Room - Rooms were clean, boutique and comfortable overlooking lovely courtyard gardens. Very well thought out , only things missing were complimentary water and Shower Gel. Given the connected bakery an opportunity missed by not providing homemade welcome goods.
Evening Options - Pub/Dining room excellent decor. The staff were friendly, welcoming and professional , food was excellent ...good ingredients and dishes. It as a smaller menu but with a good selection , obviously dishes created from good local sourced food and the flavour combinations were excellent , thank you chefs !
Sleep - Good quality beds , personally would prefer softer top pillow as used to feather but I kept to one chunky pillow and slept soundly. The rooms were quiet and a good temperature.
Breakfast - Homemade Museli, homemade breads toasted ...the honey spelt and small seeded delighted us as we lathered homemade Jam or Marmalade on .....nothing better to sink teeth into !!
Departure - quick, easy and friendly.
Highlights/Top Tips - The joint venture with on site bakery and nearby cookery school made this extra special and the home baked goods we took away with us from the bakery were amazing.
Mobility - The rooms , pub, bakery are relatively flat and smooth , I personally could manage to push a wheelchair. Good walk in shower in our room and enough room near beds to move a wheelchair ....obviously not the sizes of a fully disabled room but adequate to manage. The shower probably would need some accessories depending on level of needs e.g. non slip mat, handle on side to hold , seat if cant stand at all. For the person I was with it was great but pls do speak to the owners for personal needs before booking.
