Just spent the weekend here - we were blessed with lovely weather but, even so, I reckon it would be just as nice mid-winter.
Lovely cottage to stay in overlooking the river, service and staff all very friendly and efficient, food gorgeous.
Breakfast on terrace by river, brought to our room at our chosen time.
Would recommend to anyone, and will definitely be coming back.

Stayed in one of the cottages [27] , ground floor living room with fridge and tv, and upstairs double bedroom and a very large bathroom with a separate bath and shower, two sinks. Upstairs very bright with good size rooms. Bedroom looks out over the Thames which was wonderful.

There is a small table and chairs outside each cottage along a shared patio area, overlooking a lovely lawn that leads down to the Thames. Lovely for a drink in the sunshine or even breakfast if the weather allows.

Breakfast is served in the cottage and is prepared in a kitchen that is located in the cottages, so is served very hot.

I do feel that the room needs a little lift as the décor is a bit faded/dated, the cottage is clean and spacious but could be made so much nicer with a little tlc.,

I was told by a manager that the cottages where the home of the mill workers, no doubt they where very small for the parents to raise a family but as a place to stay now they are fantastic.

Had a great time at the French Horn and hope it will not be long until we return

Graeme

The service was impeccable, nothing was too much trouble. The food and wine were superb; the room (Cottage) extremely comfortable and spacious. An idyllic location. My wife and I couldn't have asked for more.

I stay here regularly in the cottages, they are very cute and great for longer term stays as it at feels more like home than just a room. The bathrooms are a good size and are always lovely and clean.

On of the most delightful and expensive meals of our lives. It was darkest December with the lawn outside the dining room flooded and washed by the current. Inside we were carried along through an exquisite dinner by feelings of enjoyment mixed with an undertow of apprehension. Why were the staff hovering at all times? Could we relax and talk? How enormous was the bill going to be after all? This seems to be a "if you have to ask, don't go" sort of place. You sit by the fire to have drinks first (Bar bill) then have dinner (Dining bill) then are invited to take coffee and liqueurs at the fire after (Afters bill). We skipped the Afters and still paid more than we ever have in our lives!!! Even so, we were happy and have a lovely memory.

We have just come back from two great nights. Had an excellent meal with our family Everything was absolutely top notch.

For personal reasons we had to make changes to our reservations and could only confirm at the last minute - Laurence on the front desk was exceptionally helpful - a great ambassador for the hotel.

First visit to this superb restaurant , great setting , along by the river can imagine how lovely this would be in the summer ! The staff were amazing and cared for all our needs , although we did not have the set menus but al a carte , the set lunch had enough choices , The French Horn is also a small hotel ,which we have decided to stay at in the future .

Room Tip: Did not stay this time but looking at the brochure they look fantastic .with lots to choose from all...
