We have been here regularly ever since it opened, long before I started to contribute to Tripadvisor, which is the only excuse I have for not singing its praises sooner! We go on birdwatching trips to Bridlington twice a year - Spring and Autumn - staying at Rosebery House [which I have already reviewed!]. The Emperor Ming is only a short walk away, so it is fortunate that it's so good that, having booked our accommodation, this is next on our list for a reservation, together with the Masala Indian just down the road. Saturday, Emperor Ming; Sunday, Masala!
We have always been made very welcome by Mrs Wong; our orders have been taken promptly and the food is excellent. We have eaten in many Chinese restaurants over the years, and this has to be one of the best. At first sight it could easily be overlooked, having quite a small frontage on a side street off the main road just in from the sea front. The tables are glass-topped [for easy wiping?] but don't let that put you off - it is clean, smart and if you ask for chop sticks and rice bowls they are instantly available. Prices are quite reasonable and the menu is impressive [certainly not just the usual Cantonese offerings, although they are there too] - my favourite is the splendid salt and pepper squid! There is also a decent wine list, with the house red being most acceptable. If you're looking for a Chinese meal in Brid, this is for you.
