We enjoyed a short stay at the Rivendell and would recommend it. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hosts were friendly and the breakfast was generous and well-prepared. All in all a good place to stay in a convenient location close to the south beach.

One or two things seemed more like an old-fashioned B&B than a hotel, particularly the list of "thou shalt nots" on the bedroom wall. Do adults really need to be told "do not let the bath overflow"? And why give away free shower caps but charge extra for the wi-fi password?

We thank Mr C for his review and are glad that he enjoyed his stay with us and hopefully will use us again,
Just to clarify a couple of points he makes,
We aren't a hotel but under the new giudelines a guest house that offers dinner and unfortunately even though we hate having signs listing do's and don'ts as i agree with him unfortunately other adults don't have his common sense, The bath in his room WAS left to overflow , causing considerable damage, hense the sign and only this week we have had a carpet burnt with an iron (even though we offer an ironing board and a flatscreen tv broken by being misused
As for charging for wifi we are offering it as a extra service, (which has an extra cost to us as my broadband provider dosent give it to us for free)

This spotlessly clean B&B on the East Yorkshire coast is a treasure not to be missed, very comfortable room with large bathroom, absolutely delicious evening meals and friendly service.
Ten out of ten!

Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Rivendell. Hospitality was excellent, a vey welcome complimentary tea and biscuits on arrival. Rooms excellent, spotlessly clean. Lovely bathroom with shower, very roomy with a window, something you don't always get, alot of en-suites are boxes in the corner of the bedroom. The breakfast was marvellous, loads (and loads) to eat and a good a varied choice. Car parking on site was a massive advantage. have already recommended this one, and would tell all others to pay a visit. Thank you.

Stayed here for 2 nights and everything was fine. Very clean and tidy guest house in an ideal location with offstreet parking. Very good breakfast menu with almost too much to eat.We stayed in Bridlington so that we could visit the RSPB at Bempton Cliffs and now that we have toured the area would definitley stay here next time. My only advice is be aware that they do not accept credit cards so take cash or cheque book.
