5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2013 via mobile

We went for a weekend break at the London. The accommodation was very clean indeed. The room had all we needed, hair dryer, alarm clock, towels, complimentary bathing pack etc. There was even an iron & ironing board. The hotel also had a lift which was perfect for us as my husband cannot climb stairs. The breakfast was just perfect, from the service to the quality of the food I cannot fault it. We took advantage of all the food on offer and we did not need to each again till tea time.
I can honestly highly recommend the London to anyone. We will definitely be going again.

My wife, her father and I stayed at the Hotel last week ( July 20th - 27th 2013 ). We decided to stay here based on other reviews on Trip Advisor. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with this Hotel. It is listed as a 4 star bed and breakfast accommodation - but we would struggle to rate it above 3 star. There are several reasons which we will keep brief. ( a ) Why do Hoteliers insist on immediate payment before you have even put your suitcases down. When we asked to see the rooms before payment, the request was granted albeit with some resistance. This was the first problem, as the rooms shown in both the brochure and this web site may have been a true representation of SOME of the rooms - but both my wife and I had a double room on the second floor - and her father had a single next door. Neither looked anything as good as the pictures and both rooms had a massive damp patch. The bed-side lamp in the single room did not work for two days and when it was eventually fixed – they plugged an extension reel in to fix it, which is quite dangerous. The single room was very small and limited in storage space – one very small wardrobe which is not enough for a weeks stay. The curtain rail was also bent and hanging off the centre support rail. ( b ) Breakfast was continually served up cold, so we were glad not to have chosen to eat an evening meal. ( c ) The host was never to be seen, except when she requested payment on arrival and of course said her goodbye ( angling for a tip maybe ? ). We were never introduced, which is only good manners in our opinion. The only saving grace was Rachael, who was very efficient and polite at all times, even when under pressure to serve up everyone’s breakfast. We were able to tell how good she was, as on her day off from serving breakfast – the service was very poor. We would certainly never return to this hotel again.

Stayed with my mother for 3 nights - superb sea views, quiet but near to all amenities. The rooms were of an exceptional standard, spacious, comfortable chairs and mattresses and superb new bathrooms. Lovely staff, would stay here again. Liz

Very well appointed hotel on Bridlington sea front with sea views from every room. Very clean and beautifully decorated rooms. Very helpful staff and well run family business. Unfortunately the only thing that we wish to make an adverse comment on was the time of the evening meal at 5pm which was too early for us but we can understand it may be convenient if guests are booked for the theatre or evening entertainment. However we were more than happy to eat out and found some very good restaurants in the area. We would certainly recommend this hotel and hope to return ourselves again soon.

Room Tip: All rooms have a sea view but the corner rooms have a double aspect sea view.

what a place? I've stayed in a good few places in Brid over years but this is the best for me. Clean, well equipped and staffed by lovely team of people that make you feel welcome. If your looking to stop in Bridlington I would check if this place has any room first but don't be surprised if it's fully booked. The lift was a welcome after a long hot drive and so was the help with the bags despite being quite late when we got there, thanks. Most none 'chain' places I've stayed in the beds are not that comfortable but not the case at The London, a great nights sleep. Sitting in the dining room it was evident that The London has a lot of regulars which speaks for it's self.

Room Tip: although on the 4th floor room 16 has great views, and if sunny keep the curtains drawn and windows...

Lying in bed drinking my early morning cup of tea watching the sun reflected on the sea whilst the fishing boats go out from the harbour I think I could be in Grenada, Greece or anywhere at all..If you leave the windows open you can hear the sound of the sea most of the time you are in the room particularly if the tide is high and the sea pounding against the sea wall. Early morning dog walkers, runners and the whole of Bridlington bay is visible from this eyrie at the London Hotel.

I love staying here, everything is spotlessly clean, the staff very friendly and welcoming, particularly Margot, the owner. Nothing is too much trouble for her. The breakfasts are very good with plenty of choice. A little gem of a hotel.
