“A great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely guest house. The owner Margot made us very welcome and proudly showed us several rooms that they had renovated over the past few years - all were impressive. I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation, it was scrupulously clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts were spot on,great quality, hot and satisfying. A big thankyou must also go to other staff, nothing was too much trouble. A great guest house in a great location, just far enough away from the centre whilst being walkable for eating out, walking etc. Thank you The London. Janet Watson

Room Tip: A lift was useful Rooms 2 and 15 are very good with 15 being the largest If you are of larger buil...

Stayed here about 5 times and our last visit was just as good as all the rest. A newly decorated room greeted us this time, with the widest bed I have ever seen, 3 pillows across. All rooms have sea views, v.nice for a night cap. Great breakfast choice with friendly service. Lift to all floors, homely friendly family run business.

Room Tip: All rooms have a sea view.

The staff are lovely
The hotel is clean
Granted the hallway was a bit dated along with the reception but your not sleeping in those areas so it doesn't matter too much! And you can only afford to renovate so much at once!
The rooms were lovely! Spotless, modern and beds were amazing! Slept like a baby!

Would deffo go back! It's in perfect walking distance from the main amusement arcades and sea front!

Couldn't of asked for anything better

On our arrival at The London it had the look of faded elegance. The reception area is very small, the young man who attended us very courteous. Then to the lift ... Ah, the lift. Maximum 2 persons (being under-weight would help here) but it got us to the third floor safely. Our room on the sea front side of the hotel was welcoming. Nicely furnished, but not quite to 4 star standard I would say. The bathroom, newly refurbished. Good size walk in shower, nicely tiled etc. Unfortunately, water pressure from the shower head inefficient. Extremely comfortable bed. We decided against using the lift again (except on leaving with our suitcase, when my husband opted out of accompanying the suitcase in the lift !) The stair carpeting gives the hotel its look of 'faded' elegance. Tired, dated and extremely old fashioned. Breakfast selection was good, though not exceptional (as you would expect in a 4 star establishment). Why is it that so many waitering staff so often walk by a table, empty handed, which is obviously ready for clearing. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend it as a short term stay-over.

Excellent location with superb sea views. Great team running the hotel, makes for a very relaxing holiday. You will not find better views from a hotel than this. We liked everything about The London, in particular the friendliness and hospitality from checking in to leaving. Thanks Margot and the rest of the staff, it was great to stay at your hotel. Many Thanks.

Room Tip: All rooms have a sea view, we stayed in room 15, which has two windows, side and front, absolutely b...

Coming down to breakfast to find I was sharing the dining room with Daniel O'Donnell! Apparently he was playing at the Spa, Bridlington. What a charming, lovely man.
Great hotel, the London, and this was the icing on the cake!
