“It rocks!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2014

We got to roll our own rock, & make a chocolate lolly. The visit went smoothly, with plenty of free samples & lots of time to ask questions. Staff seemed genuinely proud of what they do there. The activity play area connected to it was super. The bairns (ages 8 & 3) enjoyed it and the staff were very friendly and approachable. This should definitely be on your list of places to visit.

“Great afternoon but certain staff need training.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2014 via mobile

Great afternoon very interesting and worth a visit. Got a nice cafe and play area. We didn't eat here but the food looked nice. Children could make rock with there initial in it and chocolate lollies. We really enjoyed it too and was good for the cost.

Only 1 downfall, we got there a little earlier than the tour time so went in the play area arrived at 12.40pm. Tour time 1pm. So we paid for the play area and we asked if we could return after the tour to be advised this wasn't a problem. Upon leaving at 12.55pm to go for the tour we asked for our receipt to be changed and was advised by a different member off staff that this was not possible. When explained that we was told this was and said we would like a refund or something sorting she got a bit shirty (to say she was an assistant manager her attitude was out of order). I received a refund with still her going on about it wasn't aloud. At this stage I asked for a manager only to be advised she was off on this day.

Spoke to another manager from the shop and explained the situation. Was very helpful and couldn't apologise enough thank you to this lady for being helpful and understanding. I think the assistant manager may need a little training maybe customer service.

Apart from the little incident we had a great afternoon.

“Not worth a visit...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 December 2013

It was my daughters birthday on October 31st and she really wanted to go to John Bull also we visited before and it was brilliant, but not this time! We informed the manager we was going to have a birthday and we would like everyone to sing to my daughter, also with a cake, and competition. When we arrived the staff were rude, and very disrespectful, like I said they were also informed, but it never made a change to the atmosphere, and when it nearly came to the end of the night, it was closing and the staff gave my daughter the cake, she blew the candles...
And then one of the staff came over and said happy birthday, that was it and they said there would be a Halloween competition but there wasn't, which was very disappointed.

“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2013 via mobile

Cheap and cheerful. Friendly staff, great to watch rock and biscuits being made. Had the chance of rolling a stick of rock with a letter of our choosing inside, then made a chocolate lolly, they both cost £1 but it was worth it. Sadly spent far too much money in the shop after as there was so much choice.

“very interesting!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2013

Visited with grandchildren and their mum during half term. Quite busy because the weather was not good, very interesting to discover how the letters are put through the rock, fascinating to watch the rock makers working with the hot sugar syrup. The children were able to roll rock with their initial through it. That went down well but not as well as making the chocolate lolly. All staff were great with the kids and we all passed a pleasant and interesting afternoon. Shop was full of goodies and collectables. We had a coffee in the café but disappointed in the lack of good cakes. Otherwise a good afternoon out
