“lovely veg disappointed with meat”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 October 2012

Went today for lunch with 3 friends decided on the carvery. They served beef, pork, ham, and, turkey, the beef was very rare indeed, pork undercooked, not keen on ham, just had turkey which was very nice but only a couple of slices. Must admit the veg i chose was very nice indeed, good selection as well to pick from. To full for a dessert so bought a takeaway cake in a box to have later between myself and my husband, far to big for two of us to finish though!! We found the staff to be very pleasant, not at all surly or unpleasant as reported to earlier reviews.

“Shocking service!!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2012

Since the new people have taken over, lymewood has gone down hill! The food and drinks aren't as good quality and service from staff is unprofessional! A waitress with glasses and middle aged took us over to a table which was in the middle of busy people next to the bar. we didn't want to sit there, she then walked off with an attitude and said well there's nowhere else to sit! No happy smiles and customer service throughout our meal! A good reputation has been spoiled by poor staff and lack of communication and customer service skills!

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 October 2012

we went last sunday a party of 5 about 4.30pm.w have been before and food has been ok but on this occasion it wasnt as good as past visits.
i had carvery which was ok but small potions of meat and my mum ordered steak pudding and chips the pudding was so hard like it had been in microwave lady came and apoligised and brought replacement meal and this was still slightly hard on edges ,my husband had staekk and rib combo and it was smothered in sauce that it spoiled the meal ,we waited over 40minutes for meals lady ame back and gave us a £10 voucher to use for cakes to say sorry will be leaving it a while before we try it again

Very busy when we visited on a friday night we had the carvery it was OK but the veg seemed as if it had been there for a while espcially the mushy peas. The puddings looked wonderful and seemed very popular. We didnt have room for one

“Trip to Catshow”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2012

This restaurant come pub was across from the hotel and provided typical pub grub and excellent beer. The food was good and plentiful and was of a better standard than some I have come across in my travels.
