Had the pleasure of staying here mid November. It was a mon to fri stay . Great place for a base for work purposes but be warned no public transport. Food in the restaurant is nice but for me not a lot of choice as most meat served on the bone . The food in the bar was better. Service could not be faulted staff were lovely

This hotel is decent but its run in the main by young kids and probably students. Breakfast would be good if the plates and or the food where hot but neither are. Been here 3 days and really not overly impressed by brand. Have used De Vere on numerous occassions but Village is not the standard I expect. Hope I get a hot breakfast in the morning but I doubt it. Ordered 2 meals this afternoon after a long day in the city and when they arrived they were dull and lacking on all counts. Steak and ale pie with 4 small new potatoes and 4 slices of carrot. My wifes pie was great, full of steak in a rich dark gravy, mine was beige sludge with as much carrot as on plate and 3 tiny bits of mystery meat. I was hungry and didn't wantbto wait anotger 20 minutes for a replacement so just ate it. Team leader was great in dealing with the situation and resolved it but the Chef could not have looked at what he served us. Make the meal look appealing and value, a few fresh veg wouldn't break the bank. The Red Card Dealis a bad move on managements part, better to sell 100 pints at £2.50 than 40 to 50 at Over £3. Bad decision as staff just standing around waiting to help. Great effort by young undervalued and keen staff.

This hotel is very dated decor and rooms are in need of refurbishment, food okay location good for motorway links. the hotel is let down by the rooms and the aged look of them i was disapointed having stayed in other hotels within this chain.

To anybody who's interested. The bar has increased there prices by over 20% in the last week, they have been pushing Red Card offers over the last few years, to get a good customer base and have now removed any offers without informing anyone, even though they have all the email addresses so you pay full price for them,New so called Red Card offers start at £2.95 per drink, that is not an offer it's a 20% price increase, and it's on a resticted basis. Prices start from £3.25 and upto £4.80 for one pint. This is Knowsley not Knightsbridge .Also dont expect a good deal on the bar food, all offers have gone, but why anyone would want to eat there is beyond me, the food is worse than awful. i would advise people to go anywhere else, the labour club is £2.10 a pint, and all the other local pubs are much cheaper, dont go on derby day, teach the ripoff's a lesson !

I stayed here this weekend as part of a trip to watch Liverpool fc. Staff were friendly and room/breakfast was great considering the price we paid through a deal as being members at the de vere group but I warn all guests to avoid room 101! We didn't get in until 1am, but I was continuously woken up by guests coming home laughing and shouting as the room is right next to the lift/stairs to other floors!
I would come back though but only if I could get a better room.

Room Tip: Avoid room 101

Hugely disappointed as been at de vere Cardiff which was great. Restaurant had new hot rocks menu. Totally smoked out and smelling. Had to ask to move tables as not offered. No extraction, very poorly thought out. Music and dj extremely noisy, not at all family friendly. Did not expect people in an adjoining room to be running up corridors, laughing and joking till 2.45am. Then drunk people decided to set the fire alarms off about 1.30am. Three times. To cap it all the staff set it off again at 6.45am. Couldn't wait to go home, absolutely shattered. Nightmare. Never again. (Shame to write this as the staff we're lovely)
